📢 Just released - 2025 Advance Care Planning Prevalence Study! 📢

We’re excited to share the key findings from our 2025 Advance Care Planning Prevalence Study – a landmark national report highlighting the current state of advance care planning in Australia.

The findings reveal that advance care planning is still not embedded as a routine part of basic health care. Many Australians are missing crucial opportunities to document and communicate their preferences for future care, leaving health professionals without clear guidance during critical moments.

27 May marks the anniversary of the 1967 referendum.

In 1967, more than 90% of Australians voted ‘Yes’ in a referendum to include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the census and give the Australian Government the power to make laws for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The 1967 referendum did not end discrimination, but it opened a door for the Australian Government to make specific laws that applied to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples that could assist in addressing inequalities.

This recognition and legislative authority gave the 1967 referendum longstanding significance for all Australians.

Today, we reflect not only on that historic moment but also on the ongoing journey toward justice and equality. While progress has been made, many challenges remain. The anniversary reminds us that recognition must be paired with meaningful action – guided by the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
