Our goal is to help you find the best version of you attainable with this holistic approach. We believe in finding the balance in you to unlock your ultimate state of body and mind wellness. Marika Scicluna, physiotherapist and founder of Body Mind Wellness Physiocare, has over 20 years of experience in the physiotherapy. Marika will perform a biomechanical, postural and gait analysis to identify the causes of your aches and pains. From this assessment an individualised treatment plan will be formulated to address all areas of the body that may be contributing to your aches and pains. Marika uses a combination of hands-on physiotherapy, including trigger point therapy, muscle-energy techniques, spinal mobilisation and manipulation. Marika is also an accredited Polestar Pilates Instructor and APA acupuncture physiotherapist. She uses her Pilate’s knowledge and skills to retrain your body to prevent any aches or pains returning and uses acupuncture as an adjunct treatment to minimise pain and improve flexibility in the body. Changing your mindset towards your daily activities and movement is an essential part of Marika’s treatment approach. In combination, Marika’s assessment and treatment skills provide the essentials to holistic preventative physio care and will result in your ultimate state of body and mind wellness.

It is hard to see women of all ages suffering unnecessarily. We see it everyday in our clinic. If you are suffering with perimenopausal or menopausal symptoms please seek help, information and advice. From a physiotherapy viewpoint this can support our management of the musculoskeletal symptoms of menopause.

This clip interviewing Dr. Attia summarises it well.

✨ Women—start exercising now to support your body through the menopausal years! ✨
Building an exercise routine before you reach menopause can make a huge difference later. Once you enter postmenopause, your hormone levels become low and stable—and new research published this month in Exercise and Sports Sciences Reviews shows that regular exercise can help offset the effects of estradiol(a hormone made naturally in the ovaries) loss by activating similar molecular pathways as estrogen.
In short: Staying active helps protect your health during postmenopause.

But here’s the catch:
👉 Delaying physical activity until well into menopause makes exercise less effective.
So if you haven’t built the habit yet, now is the perfect time to begin! But better always remember late than never!

If you’re already consistently active (moderate to high activity levels), here are some targeted tips to keep you strong and thriving:

💪 Lift heavy—rest more: Recovery takes longer now. Adjust volume, not intensity.
⚡ Prioritise power & mobility: Explosive movements, pilates, & yoga support balance & strength
🤝 Stay social & structured: Train with others, follow a plan, and track how you feel.

🎯 Your goals: Maintain strength. Prevent decline. Stay mobile and mentally sharp.

We are thrilled to share that Body Mind Wellness Physiocare was a finalist in the Small Business of the Year category at the North West Business Alliance Awards 2025!

While we didn't win our category, the experience of participating was incredibly rewarding. The journey of running a small business, with all its highs and lows, and the opportunity to connect with so many wonderful people, truly embodies the spirit of these awards. The application process itself offered a valuable chance for us to reflect on and celebrate our achievements, something small businesses often don't have the time to do.

We are immensely grateful to the North West Business Alliance for this incredible opportunity and highly encourage other small and large businesses in the west to get involved next year.

Our success is truly built on the unwavering support of our family, friends and an amazing team of individuals. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to our treasured clients in our local western community, especially Henley Beach and Visit Henley Beach, for their continuous support. We feel incredibly fortunate to be a part of such a wonderful community!

Congratulations also to our esteemed colleagues Simple Breastfeeding, Entrepreneur of the Year 2025 and SA Psychology & Wellness a fellow finalist of the Small Business Award Category. Both very valuable businesses in our community🙏❤️

World Menopause Day held on October 18th is aimed to raise awareness of menopause and support options available for improving health and well being for women in this stage or approaching it.

“Very few people know that in menopause estrogen is critical for the musculoskeletal system. Total body aches , inflammation, frozen shoulder, loss of muscle, loss of bone, redistribution of fat as well as arthritis are all the result of loss of estrogen.” Dr. Vonda Wright

Education and awareness about Menopause, Perimenopause, HRT, Diet, Exercise and Lifestyle Changes are key. See Dr Vonda Wright’s excellent informative video below…
