Hi, I'm looking for a SIL/SDA Fully Accessible vacancy 1:3 in Hervey Bay. The gentleman is a psychosocial participant who recently had a stroke. He is a bit of a larrikin, so we are looking for an active and social household.

Today is the first day of 🧡 Harmony Week 🧡 – a week where we celebrate inclusivity and the incredible tapestry of diverse cultures across Australia because . From the oldest continuous culture of the traditional owners of the land, to the newest arrivals from across the globe 🌏, there is incredible knowledge, richness and vibrancy that comes with multiculturalism – the cultural diversity of this country is one of its greatest strengths.

This week reminds us of the important message to come together to embrace our different backgrounds. Let’s create a stronger community – one built on inclusivity, respect and a sense of belonging for all. Happy Harmony Week!

The State Government has opened a parliamentary inquiry into supported accommodation and wants to hear from current and former residents, families of residents and other disability and community organisations on their experiences.

This inquiry will look at a number of issues, including:
➡️ How facilities are run and funded, and how much it costs a resident to live there.
➡️ The services and support provided. This includes how they meet certain standards as well as the health, safety and wellbeing of residents.
➡️ The ways National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funded supports fit with the services provided through a facility.

Queensland Advocacy for Inclusion (QAI) and Queenslanders with Disability Network (QDN) have been funded by the Department of Housing to help current and former residents of Level 3 Supported accommodation facilities to tell their story. Submissions close on Friday 2 February 2024.

To make a submission directly to the inquiry visit: https://bit.ly/3Sl7QWy
