To wrap up the year, I want to acknowledge this guy. People sometimes say to me, "May, you're so awesome. I can't imagine how you do everything and seem so driven and successful. Good on you." Well, I will share my secret: I have a husband who is twice as smart, kind, and capable as I am. He is the primary carer of our children, the primary home body, and he runs the practice back end. Anyone who has had these roles while studying and/or working will attest that the roles he does are the harder ones. There is no switching off. No end to the work. No room for selfishness. I get to be shiny because Daniel is there paving the way, cheering me on, and catching me when I fall. He is the other half of Made It Clinic. My better half.

On working with children: What brings value and vitality to the child in front of me? It's ok to play and learn together. Otherwise kids will give an answer to what they think the adult wants from them.

Our Story

The Made It Clinic is here to see people with busy lives experience small and big wins. The mindset of 'making it' is about carving footholds into life's challenges and creating meaningful experiences through purposeful action. We aim to provide a range of services for the general public and for health professionals working in rural and remote areas. The goal of this is to improve the service capacity and well being of the Fraser Coast community. The clinic is guided by the following values: Purpose | Fortitude | Warmth | Honesty | Discovery You do not need a referral from a General Practitioner (GP) to access psychological services and assessment. However, if you have a mental health condition, or co-occurring physical health issues, it is recommended that you engage a GP because they can assist by coordinating your treatment and referring to specialists as required. Remember, the brain is just another organ in your body. It likes to think that it's the most complex one, but it's just as affected by nutrition, fatigue, and illness as every other organ. We are based in Hervey Bay, Queensland. Posts on the page are general, comedic, or opinion/interest only and should not be a substitute for seeing a psychologist or professional mental health advice. Always consider your personal situation and evidence based practice when making a decision about your health and well being. Information posted may become outdated as research in the field of human behaviour is expanding rapidly.
