On working with children: What brings value and vitality to the child in front of me? It's ok to play and learn together. Otherwise kids will give an answer to what they think the adult wants from them.

"What are you bringing home from work" is an article I wrote for Issue 4 of Island View Connect Magazine.

Thank you Kelly for giving me the opportunity to provide (hopefully) useful ideas more broadly as many people may never see a psychologist.

Tricked by daylight savings this morning, but redeemed by getting time to read Eric's takeover of the ACBS page. I think that having ACBS as a home base really does change how one lives.

Our Story

The Made It Clinic is here to see people with busy lives experience small and big wins. The mindset of 'making it' is about carving footholds into life's challenges and creating meaningful experiences through purposeful action. We aim to provide a range of services for the general public and for health professionals working in rural and remote areas. The goal of this is to improve the service capacity and well being of the Fraser Coast community. The clinic is guided by the following values: Purpose | Fortitude | Warmth | Honesty | Discovery You do not need a referral from a General Practitioner (GP) to access psychological services and assessment. However, if you have a mental health condition, or co-occurring physical health issues, it is recommended that you engage a GP because they can assist by coordinating your treatment and referring to specialists as required. Remember, the brain is just another organ in your body. It likes to think that it's the most complex one, but it's just as affected by nutrition, fatigue, and illness as every other organ. We are based in Hervey Bay, Queensland. Posts on the page are general, comedic, or opinion/interest only and should not be a substitute for seeing a psychologist or professional mental health advice. Always consider your personal situation and evidence based practice when making a decision about your health and well being. Information posted may become outdated as research in the field of human behaviour is expanding rapidly.
