Pulling Together When It Matters Most
World Social Work Day 2026 calls us back to something ancient and urgent â Harambee â pulling together.
Not because it sounds nice.
Because division is costing lives, dignity, and futures.
In a world shaped by conflict, inequality, and ecological strain, hope is not a feeling â it is a practice. Harmony is not passive â it is built, brick by brick, through collective care and shared responsibility.
Social workers stand at the heart of this work.
Holding space where trust has been broken.
Amplifying voices long ignored.
Bridging divides others walk away from.
Rooted in human dignity, social justice, and community participation, social work reminds us of a hard truth â no society thrives when people are excluded.
On March 17, 2026, and beyond, Co-Building Hope and Harmony is a call to action. From local communities to the World Conference in Nairobi, Harambee asks us to stop pulling apart â and start pulling together.
Because unity is not naĂŻve.
It is necessary.
