Did you know Hawaiian pizza is actually a Canadian invention? That's right! Ontario takes all the credit (or the blame, depending on your taste) for this pineapple and ham concoction, which it has been serving up since 1962.

Whether you love it or hate it, Hawaiian pizza is here to stay. Now, we want to hear from you! What are your thoughts on pineapple on pizza? Let us know in the comments!

The Silence That Saved You

No warning.
No goodbye.
Just
 gone.

Ghosting hurts. It leaves questions spinning in your head and doubt creeping into your heart.

But here’s something most people won’t tell you — sometimes the silence is protection.

Research shows people with Dark Triad traits are more likely to ghost. That includes those high in narcissism, Machiavellianism, and psychopathy. These traits are marked by low empathy, manipulation, and emotional coldness. In other words — people who struggle to care about the impact they have.

And while that doesn’t take away the sting, it does shift the story.

Someone who disappears rather than communicate is showing you their capacity. Believe them.

Healthy adults have hard conversations.
They don’t vanish.
They don’t dodge accountability.

If you’ve been ghosted, give yourself the closure they couldn’t.
Speak kindly to yourself.
Lean on safe people.
Consider counselling if the hurt lingers.

You weren’t rejected because you weren’t enough.
You were released from someone who couldn’t show up properly.

That’s not a loss.
That’s a narrow escape.

The Freedom Is in the Small Things

Rising costs are real.
But so is your power.

Most money stress doesn’t come from one big mistake. It comes from tiny daily habits — the lunch we “deserve”, the coffee that doesn’t feel like much, the quick supermarket pop-in that somehow costs $80.

It’s not about guilt.
It’s about awareness.

When you pack lunch instead of spending $15 a day, that’s $4,800 a year back in your pocket. One daily takeaway coffee? $1,200. That’s a holiday. A savings buffer. A step towards a house deposit.

Small leaks. Big impact.

Planning meals — even adding “lazy dinners” for tired days — cuts stress and waste. Reducing those random supermarket visits keeps spending intentional. Sharing the mental load at home makes it sustainable.

And here’s the key — you don’t have to cut everything out.
Just decide in advance what you’ll spend.

Set a goal. Put it somewhere you’ll see it every day. Make it real.

Because beating the cost of living isn’t about earning more.
It’s about keeping more.

What’s one small money leak you’re ready to plug this week? 💬

When Friendship Isn’t the Same as Romance — And That’s Okay

You can laugh together.
Feel safe.
Share easy, effortless days.

And still realise something deeper is missing.

Not every strong connection is meant to be romantic. Sometimes a relationship grows you by showing you what feels steady — and what feels flat. That awareness isn’t failure. It’s maturity.

When you notice the spark isn’t there, you’re being honest with yourself. You’re learning the difference between comfort and chemistry, between companionship and desire, between “this is nice” and “this is alive.”

Growth often begins with quiet questions:
Do I feel chosen?
Do I feel excited?
Do I feel deeply met?

From here, you and your partner can work together to choose what’s next — whether that’s reigniting the spark, exploring new ways to connect, or lovingly redefining your relationship. Real clarity comes when both hearts are in dialogue.

You deserve a connection that holds friendship and fire.

A Blast from the 80s

My brain, randomly every few months since 1981, for no reason:
"Believe it or not, I'm walking on air... I never thought I could feel so free-ee-eee!"

Who else remembers this catchy tune? For my fellow 80s kids, that earworm... it's my pleasure 😜

It's funny how certain songs stick with us through the years, popping up out of nowhere to bring a smile to our faces. What are some of your favourite 80s earworms that you can't help but sing along to? Share in the comments below! Let's take a trip down memory lane together.

Happy Galentine’s Day — Sisterhood Heals

Not every love story is romantic.

Some are built over coffee dates, voice notes at midnight, and the friend who says, “That’s not okay,” when you’ve been gaslit for the third time.

Galentine’s Day celebrates the women who hold the line with you.
The ones who remind you who you are.
The ones who sit beside your grief without trying to fix it.

Female friendships aren’t a luxury — they are protective. Research into Social Support Theory shows that safe, consistent connection reduces stress, strengthens resilience, and improves mental health. When women gather in honesty, nervous systems settle. Shame softens. Boundaries grow stronger.

But here’s the truth — sisterhood only heals when it’s real.
Not competitive.
Not performative.
Not built on gossip or silent comparison.

Healthy friendship says:
“I celebrate your wins.”
“I respect your no.”
“I’ll tell you the truth with care.”
And most of all — “You matter.”

If you’ve been the strong one for everyone else, this is your reminder: you deserve women who show up for you too.

Who are you grateful for today — and have you told her?

If this carousel felt uncomfortably familiar, pause here.

These behaviours don’t just hurt — they confuse. They erode trust in your own thoughts, feelings, and memories. That’s not weakness. That’s what prolonged emotional manipulation does.

Healing isn’t about analysing them.
It’s about reconnecting with you.

In therapy, we slow this down.
We rebuild self-trust.
We untangle guilt from responsibility.
We strengthen boundaries that don’t require justification.

You don’t need to prove what you lived through.
You deserve support while you heal from it.

Rest in Peace, Dawson — Why This One Hurts

Rest in peace, James Van Der Beek.

This one hit me harder than I expected. So I paused. Reflected. Got curious.

When a celebrity dies and we feel grief — that’s normal. Often it’s not just about the person. It’s about what they represented.
A character who mirrored our own struggles.
A storyline that carried our hopes.
A show that held us steady through lonely seasons.

For me, it was Sunday mornings in London.
Far from family. Working in a fast-paced industry. Masking my insecurities.

I’d cook bacon, eggs, and fried bread. Make a cup — or two — of tea. And watch Dawson’s Creek. It became a small ritual of comfort when everything else felt uncertain and overwhelming.

I’ve rewatched the series many times since. Each time, it lands differently. Life experience changes the meaning. The connection deepens.

Grief doesn’t always make logical sense. Sometimes it’s layered — memory, identity, empathy. In this case, my heart also aches for his wife and six children. Loss ripples far beyond the screen.

You don’t have to understand why someone is emotional.
Just honour that they are.
Offer respect. Offer support.

That’s enough.

Together we can discover how you .

Cutting contact doesn’t cause the chaos.
It reveals it.

When a narcissist realises they can no longer use you, their behaviour escalates — not because you’ve done something wrong, but because control is slipping.

Charm.
Victimhood.
Gaslighting.
Smear campaigns.

None of it is accidental.

This isn’t about labels.
It’s about patterns — and the clarity that comes when you finally stop explaining yourself to someone committed to misunderstanding you.

Awareness is the first boundary.
And it’s a powerful one.

Follow tomorrow for Part 2 of our latest series to uncover the remaining tactics Narcissists use when you cut contact, so you can prepare yourself, and ultimately reclaim your self-worth and autonomy.
