Timi Delahunty the owner and director of Core Condition Pilates and Massage Studio, since 2005. Originally based in Mildura, Victoria, Timi and her family has loved the sea change and being in operation in Hervey Bay since 2018. With over 16 years experience and in excess of 7,500 teaching hours, Timi has attained the highest level of qualifications available for a Pilates practitioner. Timi has completed both her Advanced Diploma of the Pilates Method (10538NAT) and Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction (91491NSW). This one isn't for the faint of heart - so make sure this is right for you in a safe space.
🫣 Why go eyes-closed?
Removes visual input, forcing your inner ear + proprioception (sense of body in space) to do heavier lifting
💪 Strengthens deep stabilisers and balance pathways
Highly predictive: if you struggle here, that’s where we need targeted training
Start: 5-10 sec → 20 sec → build.
💯➡️ Remember: safety first. Do near a wall or chair.

Combines unilateral (one-leg) challenge + vestibular input
💪 Forces your supporting leg, core, and balance reflexes to ‘stay awake’
🌪️ Good test: wobbles, hip shift, foot drift — that’s where your body is hiding weakness
Aim: 10–20 sec → 30+ sec (start easy).

Why this trick?
🧠Introduces dynamic vestibular challenge
🏌️‍♀️Mimics real-life balance tasks (you turn your head while standing)
🏄‍♀️Helps train the brain to compensate for shifting sensory signals
Give it a go for 30 seconds.
Is your balance rock solid or shaky?

Tandem Stance --> Stand heel-to-toe in a safe space.👣
🤏 Slowly turn your head left → centre → right (pause).
Repeat.
Why do this?
👀👂 It challenges integration of your vestibular (inner ear) system + vision + balance
It forces micro-adjustments in ankle/hip because your base is narrow
Over time, it sharpens balance control in ‘real life’ when your head moves (looking around, reaching, etc.)
Aim for🎯⏱ 15 seconds → 30 → 60 (if safe).
Feeling wobbly? Use a chair support or wall.

Ok- so I’m a day late- I’m also on holidays so that’s ok 😉

Self mastery for me today was all about the why then the what….
I am a 50 year old with a life time of physical wear and tear, emotional, hormonal baggage and what not- let’s be real we all have it!!

It’s not about the social media image for me or trying to be perfect- I am what I am & that’s ok for me- and another hard truth, no one is perfect 😉

Most days, but specifically today is about what makes me feel better, both physically, mentally and spiritually.

After spending 11 hours on a train overnight, no sleep and then a full day where I treated my tiredness like jet lag-I was shagged to say the least.🫩🤤

A good nights sleep, some Chi Gong to ground me in my new space and then move as I felt I needed….
To create flow, connection and get the body moving in a friendly way that is applicable to what I am capable of at this moment in time……it just makes me feel better on every level…..
The cherry on top was being present while the day begins and the sun shares her first rays of light🌅
Holidays are here and this is what makes me happy- the why behind my what.

Our approach to teaching focuses on real people with real bodies. It’s about understanding the why behind every movement, learning to assess and strategize, and using all the tools in the Pilates system to help each person reach their individual goals — whether physical, mental, or emotional.
That’s why our instructors don’t complete a quick course and get thrown onto the floor. They’re supported with extensive training, expert mentoring, and ongoing development. We take them from passionate students to capable, confident Pilates professionals who know how to work with real life, not textbook perfection.
