DPIRD's fisheries policy hurts fishers, consumers, and communities, enriching wholesalers at everyone else's expense. Time for a rethink.

hi folks, be much appreciated if you can like and share the new seafood lovers page .... many thanks

Welcome to the Local Seafood Lovers Voice – A POSITIVE BUT LOUD SEAFOOD VOICE, telling the Boat to Table story of locally caught seafood. A page filled with fabulous seafoodie info - from catching to cooking and providing support for consumers to continue to access a variety of locally caught seafood.
We have identified a need for a dedicated platform for local seafood lovers to voice their concerns about the increasing lack of access to purchasing seafood caught in their local areas, whether that is the inability to buy direct from a local licensed commercial fisherman to cook at home or from restaurants
For too long seafood lovers have been forgotten stakeholders in decisions that have resulted in the diminishing access to local fish that is now occurring. Local Seafood Lovers Voice will positively champion the right of seafood consumers to be recognised as key stakeholders and sit at the decision-making table.
We hope you will join the page and share to your friends to come aboard. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61567039379449 PS – Always ask Is it Local?

As a seafood consumer and a supporter of local produce I wish to sincerely thank the people of the fishing industry for bringing beautiful wild Barra to the world. It is heartbreaking to read this post, and know that these Queenslanders are proud primary producers want to do nothing more than go to work to provide for their families too. Young fishers denied their right of passage in generational fishing business, their dreams crushed by Australian and Queensland governments bowing to UNESCO zealots and outright lies , and who never even spoke to these families, just bulldozed with jackboots to please the green gods. This is just the beginning with more fishermen earmarked to go. Queenslanders can look forward to more imported fish… or eating far less with extremely high prices.

This is relevant to every seafood seafood consumer of Queensland. Local Queenslanders with generational businesses are being targetted by overseas engos , in this case UNESCO and World Wildlife Fund for Nature and the Qld Government fuelled by manipulated data from parties that want exclusive rights to the wild catch seafood of this state. WWF are not interested in feeding Queenslanders or helping any local business flourish, it is all about control. Dont be fooled that they have the community's best interest at heart. It is all about control.

Beneath the surface of salty waters lies a conflict that has sent ripples through the Gill Net fisheries working the Coastal waters of Queensland. The rhythmi...

The seafood industry is the access to enjoying local qld seafood for many of our residents and tourists to the state. This is serious food security for us seafood lovers. It seems that we are never considered in the push for total power without question by philosophically opposed politicians . The sad part is young people just set up in business have had their careers snuffed out! Following the paper trail leads to overseas green group WWF comminnioning reports, bowing to UNESCO by federal and qld governments. Yes it is all politically driven for power somewhere.. Last time I checked….Humans can’t eat politics to survive!

Anyone and everyone, please show your support by attending this extremely important rally. If you or your friend’s business relies on the commercial fishing industry or you simply enjoy a feed of fish and chips at your local restaurant or fish shop then these rights are being stripped away from you by the overbearing destructive restrictions posed by the Labor Government and Fisheries QLD.

These overbearing restrictions pander to the appetite of the “green wolf” who’s appetite will NEVER be satisfied. Once they have fed on the bones of destruction from the commercial fishing industry then agriculture and other primary production is next. Their appetite will ALWAYS be insatiable unless we, The People, stand up to be heard and counted and put a stop to the extermination of generational businesses, jobs and lives.
