Next big job on the go in Nambrok. A pretty serious 1 meter high retaining wall with 1200mm high colorbond fence on top to keep the kelpies in 😳 giving a total of 2.2 meters of height which should stop them escaping. Will have stairs to access the top level and a series of gates fitted also.

Bulked out 14 truck loads of material and started drilling footings and setting posts today.

Great project to be apart of, and looking forward to the end result 👌.

Hope everyone had a happy Easter. I’ve been laying low lately copping the cost of diesel directly to the chest - like a lot of other companies that burn it to make a living - it hurts and I have put a 10% fuel levy on my jobs, which isn’t even covering half the blow, but it’s something. This levy will be increasing at the end of this week as the maths just isn’t adding up. No one works for nothing right? So unfortunately it’s either park up the gear till this s**t show is over or increase the levy again to try and earn a living again.

Anyway, we have been working, just at half the pace, so I’m only burning half the diesel. My 200 litre daily limit at the local servo gets burned in less than a day if I’m carting material around which is around $620.00 at the moment just in diesel. I’d hate to be running more than 2 trucks and 5 machines at the moment that’s for sure.

Here’s a driveway we just completed so the builders can start this build by the end of the week - scratched it out, dug the spoon drain in, spread 44 tonne 40mm ndcr on it as a base and will top dress it once the house is built.
Came up well for a base.

Oh and did i mention you try steal my fuel i break your legs? Try me 😬

Peace out ✌️

We can’t take full credit for this build as we only prepped the area, drilled the holes and set the posts for our client and he done the rest - and what great job he did! In saying that, a lot of thought goes into setting the posts, a lot of concrete and the measurements have to be dead eye dick 🎯.

First job for the new digger - unfortunately it was a grave, but I’m very happy with how it preformed compared to the 3.5t.

The frustrating thing today was getting fuel. With only 200litres per day we can use, that was put in my tipper and is now gone after driving it all day - the semi needed fuel, but was unable to get any as my 200 litre limit was up. Luckily it made it to the cemetery and back running on fumes.

I strongly believe these limits have been put on us from all the panic buyers. I’m just a spec in the ocean struggling to get diesel as most days we burn much more than that.

Please think of the farmers, farm contractors, truck drivers, grave diggers etc, etc. 200 litres isn’t enough for people who burn diesel for a living.

Please be thoughtful…

Early morning starts on this current job with McRae Civil Works in Dawson prepping the cattle laneways for concrete, and still managing to cart machinery around after hours for another client.

Still playing catch up at the moment, as there’s just not enough hours in a day, but we are getting there.

A little driveway extension for an existing client in town this morning using Recycled concrete, then swap trailers to head back to Poowong to cart McRae Civil Works machines to their next job.
Big day, but loving the versatility of the little 359 😀
