Sharing this story of a life experience that left its mark on my husband a few years ago. I used Craniosacral therapy in this session.
》Sharing how a traumatic experience affected my husband《
A few months ago my hubby, Enda was the first at the scene of man he knew, who had a heart attack at a worksite.
Enda had to give CPR immediately and continued to do for 10 minutes until the ambulance arrived. Unfortunately this man didn't survive.
This is a deeply traumatic event.
The strong rush of adrenalin. The hope that he would survive and the grief at this loss of life.
From a wife's perspective, I saw the spark dampen. Felt he lost his innate drive and motivation most days. He was sleeping yet chronically exhausted.
I noticed he was scrolling alot more then usual, as a distraction, as he was in freeze.
I had a short (8 min) cranial sacral session on him. He experienced strong waves of nausea, pulsating head pressure, dizziness and a build of of internal heat.
When I moved the hold to another place, these feelings and reactions dissolved.
It was an intense experience for us both.
Upon chatting with my tutor, we both felt it was the trauma that was trapped in his body.
A shift happened. He said he noticed he felt more energetic and motivated. Clarity in his mind and less heaviness in his body.
In regards to this traumatic event, his body responded so well and quickly to this threat. Afterwards though, his body wasn't able to feel safe enough to discharge the tsunami of cortisol and adrenalin. It remained tightly bound in his nervous system and body. This isn't something palpable, it is so much deeper.
His body needed a loving, compassionate witness.
A witness to hold a safe and regulated space. In safety only, the body is able to release, adjust and resolve this bind of traumatic memory.
Restoring the body back in to health, vitality and peace. 💗
