Skandamata is the fifth form of Goddess Durga, derived from two Sanskrit words: Skanda (the God of war) and Mata (meaning mother of Murugan). The colour associated with this day is white, which symbolises purity and innocence. Wearing white on this Monday is believed to help devotees become worthy of the Goddess's blessings.

Bring the bliss 🙏🏼♥️🧘🏼‍♀️🕉️

One of the most remarkable principles of the teachings of Self-realisation is that the only lasting reality in creation is Bliss. Everything else is a delusion. A temporary confusion that blocks our perception of Reality.

All saints and masters agree that, in the end, everything dissolves into Bliss. This is not an easy teaching. Just look around you, or look to your own heart. Suffering and sorrow is everywhere. This is why many people reject altogether the idea of God. There is no way to persuade another person to this way of thinking. It has to come, as the Bible says, like a thief in the night.

Even in the darkest hours, something in us will not give up. We know, even if for long periods of time, we forget, we know that we were made for Bliss. That’s why it is not so easy to lay down and die, even when we want to. Somewhere deep within ourself the spirit compels us to hope. As St. Augustine put it, “We were made for Thee Alone, and our hearts are restless until we find our rest in Thee.”
