Some excellent points here from the perspective of someone with ADHD. If you have concerns about your medications speak to your doctor -
There are often simple changes that can be made, but if medication is not the right answer it is important to make sure some other form of treatment / therapy is in place.

This makes perfect sense when you think about it. Saying “be careful” would break a child’s concentration- when they need it most!
Move closer and let them be.

"Be careful!" is a surefire way to break a child's concentration as they navigate a piece of equipment... and it's in that moment when a child shifts their focus to their parent that they may lose their balance... just because their concentration has been broken.

If you're feeling anxious as you observe your child on a piece of equipment... you may want to stealthily move a bit closer because proximity has a way of reducing anxiety.😰Then, be as still and quiet as you can and resist any temptation to offer advice.

When we refrain from "helping" when we're not asked for help, a child's competency can be revealed to us and confidence grows. ⁠⁠

As someone with a latex allergy the balloons in every card shop and florist make me so nervous every year. Talk to your teens about choosing allergy appropriate valentines gifts if their valentine has allergies (or if they might not know) but also get comfortable having those awkward conversations about allergen transfer when kissing and making sure they know how to keep themselves safe.

'Will you be my Valentine?' a phrase we all want to hear this coming Valentine's Day. But when you have severe allergies February 14 can be downright awkward. Chocolates, flowers, maybe a cheeky lil' kiss - eeep
