Hill Top Surgery has been providing medical services to the local area for more than 20 years. The practice was founded by Dr Clive Cawthorne and handed over to Dr Khal Rahman and Dr Chirath Wijesurendere upon his retirement in 2017.
The core principle of our practice is to care for the health of the local community. Our primary focus is to offer great quality medical care based on what is best for our patients in their unique circumstances. Our team is comitted to constantly improving to provide patients with safe and qaulity care.
Hill Top Surgery is fully AGPAL accredited – we meet the rigorous RACGP standards for general practices in Australia.
Our practice is a teaching practice of University of Wollongong Graduate School of Medicine.
The practice is open for 6 days a week and have a dedicated team of general practitioners, registered nursing staff and other staff providing services.
We also have an onsite pathology centre.
We are proudly Covid safe.
We offer quality and comphrehensive health care to all age groups in our community. This includes preventative health care, acute and chronic diseases management, adult and child immunization, antenatal, paediatrics, women's and men's health, skin cancer, mental health and counselling, family planning, travel medicine and immunization, health checks, nutritional advice, sports medicine, pregnancy tests, pap smear, ECG, spirometry, and minor surgical procedures.
We also offer home visits and nursing home visits in the local area.
Our premises offer full disabled access to all patient areas and bathrooms. There is a baby change table in the bathroom.
Hill Top surgery keeps patient's medical details confidential. Patient records are computerised and are only available to the doctors and nurses.
We create a secure electronic health summary, which can assist with communication between health care services particularly useful for patients with chronic health issues.
Hill Top surgery promotes sustainability through energy efficiency, responsibly disposing clinical waste and practice of reduce, reuse and recycle.

PATHOLOGY SERVICES Onsite Pathology Centre run by Laverty pathology is open to Surgery patients from 8am to 12pm Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. The centre is located in Hill Top surgery. You will need to see a Doctor before your blood test to get a request form.
LABORATORY RESULTS
Your doctor will advise when they expect results to arrive at the practice. You can call the Surgery to see if your results have come back but you will need to see a Dr to get the result.
Reception staffs are unable to give patient results.
AFTER HOURS
This practice provides 24 hours care on a roster care system shared with GPs across the Highlands. Please phone 4861 6433 and the call centre will phone your details through to the doctor on duty who will contact you. Otherwise you can attend the GP After Hours Service at the rear of the Southern Highlands Private Hospital off Sheffield Road.
This service is not bulk billed.
