Inspired By Pilates

Inspired By Pilates I have been a massage therapist for over 25 years. I then went through to do my sports Massage and injury management certificate in 1995.

It all started in 1994 when i left school and i studied a certificate in Therapeutic Massage, the course only went for 16 weeks. After i finished my study i found work in a Massage Clinic in the City, this was a huge eye opener for me, as i had never worked with such different personalities. It was great though as i gained so much valuable experience. i worked at Brisbane Massage Therapy Center for 5 years. When i left in 2001, i decided to give myself a break from the Massage industry and worked in various differing occupations. However massage was always my passion. i decided to go back and in 2010 and complete my Diploma in Remedial Massage through the Australian Institute of Applied Sciences. I started a Mobile Massage Business, so i could work around my children. in that time i worked in different locations and Clinical settings, I've worked with Acupuncturist, Chiropractors and Physio's. With all the experience i have gained over the years, i have now decided to open my own little clinic. i am very excited to be working in my chosen career, and have the opportunity to share my knowledge with everyone.

Today my son Charlie had his very first Kinesiology session with one of my closest and dearest friends Rebecca McQuilty.

Rebecca is an expert in Neuro-Linguistic Kinesiology, Psychic Counseling, Bio-Resonance Therapy, Stress Healing, Frequency Healing, and Energy Healing.

Healing the Physical and Emotional for Wellbeing, is exactly what Charlie needs.

In Charlie's session today, one of the things that came up in his AO frequency scan was nutrition, so i'm implementing a daily protein smoothie into his diet.

Being on the Autism spectrum means Charlie can be a picky eater and often missing out on key nutrients. It's a work in progress, I will continue to implement other daily routines and healthy habits into Charlie's life, this being a good start.

I thought I would share this video because I am very proud of my Charlie and his willingness to try new things πŸ₯°

My Story

I have been a Remedial Massage Therapist for over 24 years. It all started in 1994 when I left school and I studied a certificate in Therapeutic Massage. I then studied a certificate in sports Massage and injury management, in 1995. After completing my studies, I found work in a Massage Clinic in the City, I worked at Brisbane Massage Therapy Center for 5 years. When I left in 2001, I decided to give myself a break from the massage industry and worked in hospitality, market research and sales. However massage therapy still remained my passion, and in 2010 I decided to start again in the natural therapies industry, and renewed my Diploma in Remedial Massage through the Australian Institute of Applied Sciences. I then started a mobile massage business, this enabled me to work my business around my three children.

As well as my mobile business, I worked in different Clinical settings, with Acupuncturist, Chiropractors and Physiotherapists. With all the experience I have gained over the years, In May 2014, I decided to open my own clinic, and Time to Unwind on Anzac Avenue in Hillcrest, was born.

It has been a wonderful journey so far, I love having the flexibility to work my business around my three children. I am proud to be in my chosen industry, helping my clients everyday with my years of knowledge in so many different modalities such as:

Remedial massage, sports massage, deep tissue massage, muscle cupping for myofascial release and tradition glass flame cupping, dry needling, pregnancy massage, Lymphatic massage, Pilates and Reiki.
