Sunday was a significant day for the Greenbank RSL Men’s Shed as we packed up the old shed and relocated all our tools and machinery to our new 450sqm space at 13 Corporate Place in Hillcrest.

I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone in the community for their incredible support. There are so many amazing people to thank, but I must give a special shoutout to the Logan City Community Cadets, along with their dedicated staff and parents—they truly provided the largest workforce! The Cadets brought so much youthful energy and enthusiasm that they definitely kept the older members of our team on our toes.

On behalf of all the members of the shed and the Greenbank RSL Sub-Branch, thank you all so much.

And Shanksy, we need to talk about those photos—every time you were leaning on something, did you lift a single thing?

As we have the move this Sunday, the Forklift may not be available, does anyone in the community have a small forklift the lifts are only about 200kg max.
If you have someone who can give support please contact me by reply.
Trolley jacks are also requires as well.

Hey there, I hope you're doing well this week. I wanted to see if you’re free this Sunday, 15th February, at 8am. We’d love for you to join us at 13 Corporate Place, Hillcrest, to check out the fresh new paintwork, as shown in today’s post. While you’re there, it’d be awesome if you could lend a hand with moving the Men’s Shed equipment during our weekend move—it’s a great way to pitch in, please remember some of us are not as young as we use to be so please make sure you are able to assist and not carry any injuries, leave the lifting for the younger.
And after we’re done, we’d love for you to swing by the Sub-Branch for a BBQ and some tasty refreshments. Remember, the Sub-branch is not the Greenbank Services Club; we are the Veteran Community at our own building at the rear of the Services Club

The Men's Shed was established with a vital mission: to support Veterans grappling with mental health challenges stemming from their service. Over time, the Greenbank RSL Sub Branch Inc. witnessed transformative changes in the lives of many members. After about two years of operation, the sub-branch members made a pivotal decision to open the shed to the broader community. This move was not just about expansion; it was our heartfelt way of giving back to a community that has steadfastly supported our veterans. By welcoming more members, we aimed to create a space of connection, healing, and camaraderie, enriching the lives of all involved.
Now 10 Years down the track we are no longer going to be renting a unit but moving into our own premises which is currently double the size a 450sqm.
Now is the time that we ask our local community if you would like to get involved and help us move machiney across to the new shed.
The move will occurr SUNDAY 15th February - we will be starting the move at 0800 for the military personel or 8am for those on the other clock face.
As the members of this shed are generally elderly or have injuries forcing them out of work it would be nice if the local community could reach out to assist in the move, the more the merrier.
We will be having a BBQ Lunch followed by a few drinks.
if you have had military service, the Sub-Branch will join you up for free just by showing your support to our family, that being the Men's Shed and Greenbank RSL Sub Branch Inc.
if you can assist and I have not responded to you message please call the Greenbank RSL Sub Branch Inc on 2115 7300 please remember this is the sub-branch and not the Services Club.

Hopefully we will see you there for the move and clean up, if you would also like to come in during the week to commence packup please let us know.

The Men's Shed at Unit 3, 15 Corporate Place will be concluding its lease at the end of February. We are excited to announce our move to a newly built shed at 13 Corporate Place, which is scheduled for mid-February.

To facilitate this transition, we are looking for younger volunteers who are willing and able to lend a hand with the move. Your assistance would greatly help us save on costs, allowing us to invest more in new tools and equipment for our community.

As a token of appreciation, we will be hosting a BBQ luncheon with complimentary beverages for all those who contribute their time and effort.

We understand that some individuals may have injuries or restrictions, and we encourage everyone to prioritise their health and well-being. If you’re able to help out, please reach out via message or feel free to visit and discuss any arrangements. Your support would mean a lot to us! Thank you!

I would personally like to thank the member or members of the community that broke into the property to steal the copper pipe and electrical cabling from the new build site. The fact that you had to pull the extra one meter of cable by dragging through the gyprock wall was impressive.
This is a free community Men's Shed that you pulled apart for a few hundred dollars, if you are that hard up and you are the one doing it please PM me I would prefer to give you the money of what it is worth, rather than put the build behind for the community.
If it is you reading this thanks very much for assisting the community and giving us our New Years present.

We're excited to announce that work will kick off again on January 5th, with all our trades returning to the build site by January 12th! Here’s to a fantastic 2026, the year of the new shed! We can’t wait to see what’s in store!
