Kandhrasana (or Bridge Pose) is a favourite asana for reducing backaches and headaches. Practicing the asana calms the brain and central nervous system, soothing the effects of a stressed out and busy day, that may have caused the headache in the first instance. Enjoy Kandhrasana after several warm up stretches to reap the benefits.💜🙏☮️🦄

Number 13 makes it all worthwhile, and should never be skipped! Relaxation or Meditation at the end of practice allows your body, mind and spirit to soak up all benefits of your physical efforts.💜🙏🕉🦄

Triangle Pose or Trikonasana strengthens our physical and emotional bodies. It allows us to bring expansion to the muscles that need it most, and by extension, creates space in these places for emotional release and healing.
Trikonasana provides an ideal combination of opening, elongating, stretching, and challenging the body. By doing so, it targets the areas that take the brunt of daily stress and allows them to find solace and release.
Try incorporating Trikonasana into your regular yoga practice and you'll discover its a wonderful way of bringing yourself into alignment — physically, mentally, and emotionally. 💜🙏☮️🦄

Virabhadra, the distinguished Warrior, created by Shiva to be one of his most trusted guards, the protector of the sages.
The Warrior Archetype qualities are being explored and developed in our yoga practice this week, with the Warrior poses!
Virabhradasana I, II and III are intended, among other physical benefits, to develop the inner qualities of the Warrior, qualities that are essential to developing our greatest personal and spiritual potential. The Warrior qualities are empowerment, courage, clarity and non-attachment. Exhibit the Warrior qualities and let yourself shine from within! 🙏💜🦄☮️

Breath awareness is what makes practicing yoga asanas different from other forms of exercise.
When focusing on the breath during our asana practice, the control of the breath shifts from the brain stem (medulla oblongata) to the cerebral cortex (evolved part of brain) due to being aware of the breath. It's in that moment, when we are aware, when the magic starts to happen. The mind will become more quiet and a calm awareness arises.
As a result emotional stress and random thoughts are less likely to occur. So basically the whole system gets a break. The energy, the prana, begins to flow more freely pushing through any emotional and physical blockages and thus freeing the body and mind. Which results in the “feel good” effect after a yoga practice.🙏💜☮️🦄

Upward-Facing Dog (Urdhva Mukha Svanasana) is a powerful pose that awakens upper-body, glut and upper-leg strength and offers a wonderful stretch for the chest and abdomen. A favourite asana in vinyasa, not only for the strengthening benefits but for heart opening. When practiced consciously with deep, long, even breaths, we open our hearts to acceptance, forgiveness and love💜

Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward Facing Dog) is a resting pose, however when we break it down, use all the muscles in the diagrams below, engage the core (to protect the neutral spine) and bring awareness to the breath with Ujjay breathing, we turn the pose into an all over body workout with calming sensations....magic!!! 🙏💜🕉
