Tomorrow, the new NDIS therapy pricing comes into effect.
It’s hard to put into words how disheartening this moment feels. Over the past few weeks, so many of us across allied health — physios, OTs, speechies, and more — have tried to reach out. We’ve sent letters, shared data, spoken from lived experience, and begged for open conversations. All we wanted was to be heard.
But those in charge? The politicians who hold the power to make or change these decisions?
They chose silence.
Not once did they meaningfully engage. Not once did they come to the table and say, “Let’s talk. Let’s understand.”
Instead, they stood behind flawed reports and inaccurate assumptions, refusing to back down — even when we showed them just how wrong and harmful these changes are.
It feels like dealing with bullies. The kind who make a move, push you down and then dig their heels in, pretending what they did was right — even when the evidence, the impact, and the people say otherwise.
This silence hasn’t spoken more — it’s just confirmed how far removed they are from the realities on the ground. From the needs of families. From the costs of ethical, high-quality, child-centred care.
To every family we support, please know:
We are still here. We are still fighting.
And we will always keep showing up — even when those with the most power choose not to.
