💬 International Stuttering Awareness Day – 22 October
Today we recognise and celebrate the strength, resilience and individuality of people who stutter.
Stuttering is a speech difference that affects around one percent of the population. It often begins in the early years, and while some children experience spontaneous recovery, others benefit greatly from early intervention. The earlier a child is supported, the greater their chance of reducing or eliminating their stutter and building confident communication skills for life.
At All Adelaide Speech Pathology, we understand that stuttering does not just affect speech — it can also impact confidence, participation and wellbeing. We provide ongoing support for teens and adults who are learning to manage their stutter functionally and confidently in everyday situations.
Our therapists work in a supportive, nurturing environment, often in collaboration with psychologists, recognising the close connection between communication and anxiety. We take a holistic, flexible and functional approach, tailoring therapy to each individual’s goals, strengths and life circumstances.
Together, we help our clients find their voice, communicate with confidence and feel understood at every stage of life.
