This week Hindmarsh Bowden Health Group was awarded by the RACGP as 2024 SA General Practice of the Year. Weโre very proud to win such a prestigious award as it highlights our continued dedication to high quality health care.
To receive such recognition amongst other quality Practices in South Australia is an honour which our staff, General Practitioners, Registrars and Nurses are extremely excited about. As a training practice for RACGP Registrars we aim to further the skill set of the next generation of General Practitioners as they embark on their health care journey.
Doctor Habiba Jahan said โWe are honoured to receive the prestigious award of RACGP "GP Practice of Year 2024". It is a recognition of the hard work of our doctors, nurses and admins working at Hindmarsh Bowden Health. It made us humble and inspired us to continue to work towards a healthy Australia.
Hindmarsh Bowden Health is committed to creating a healthy Australia by providing quality health care, disease prevention and staff wellbeing. We partnered with AOGP, GPEx, RACGP and universities for teaching GP registrars and medical students. It is my great pleasure to mention that I was one of the registrars of this practice and later joined the partnership with Dr Buttery, Dr Bowler, Dr Hurn and Dr Sibanda.
In 2019, the Partnership successfully opened the first piloted Priority Care Centre offering an alternative care pathway for patients presenting to emergency departments. For last 5 years we have managed patients with acute need in a general practice setting.
I would like to dedicate this award to our patients who are our strength and our priorityโ

-the current accreditation status of the practice; nominations only accepted for this award where the relevant practice is an accredited practice
-the structure of the practice, including facilities for both patients and staff
-the services provided to patients by the practice (e.g. patient education materials, health promotion, preventive care, reminder systems)
-delivery of services to patients by practice staff
-an outline of what differentiated the practice from other practices
-details of current involvement in general practice teaching
