Reaching Devices - Extra Help Within Reach!

This week's handy hint from our Members Advisory Group (MAG) is the reaching device.

Reaching devices can be a game changer for people who use wheelchairs. Like an extension of your arm, they make it easier to press buttons, grab items, adjust accessories like hats or sunglasses, or even scratch that annoying itch! These handy tools support independence and comfort in day-to-day life—helping you do more, with less effort.

Where to Buy in SA? Lots of places in SA sell reaching devices such as MobilityHQ, Active Mobility / Aidacare, Wheelchair Sales & Service, Breeze Mobility, and Independent Living Specialists (ILS) - and lots more!

If your handy, you can always make one yourself too! Pop down to your local hardware store and pick up some dowel, a cup hook, gaffa tape and small piece of rubber and get your DIY on.

🎉🌟 Today, on June 27, we celebrate the remarkable life and legacy of Helen Keller, born in 1880.

Deaf and blind from just 19 months old, Helen went on to become a world-renowned author, advocate, and lecturer—breaking down barriers and changing perceptions of disability forever.

Her story is a powerful reminder of what’s possible with determination, support, and access to education. Helen’s advocacy laid the groundwork for generations of progress in inclusion and accessibility.

Let’s honour her incredible legacy by continuing to champion a more inclusive world for everyone. 🌍❤️

We had a magical time at our private screening of the award winning movie Wicked at Palace Nova Prospect! Customers and staff enjoyed choc tops and drinks— and the joy of sharing a fun experience together on the big screen.
