Enhanced Lifestyles

Enhanced Lifestyles Disability support the way it should be. By you, for you. Adelaide, Riverland and Limestone Coast.

Over thirty years ago, a group of people living with disability realised that no one was better equipped to choose the kind of support they needed than themselves. Honing their knowledge and skills, together they became architects and builders of their own individualised disability services. Today, Enhanced Lifestyles remains a member-governed not-for-profit, our Board is comprised of people who use our services. By designing support services based on lived experience, we deliver the services people want to live life the way they choose.

Today is Human Rights Day.
The United Nations theme for 2025 is: Human Rights: Our Everyday Essentials.

Human Rights are POSITIVE, Human Rights are ESSENTIAL, Human Rights are ATTAINABLE.

Nearly 80 years ago, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights defined what every person needs to survive and thrive. It was a philosophical and political breakthrough - and it has been the bedrock of our global community ever since.

Today, we reaffirm that all human rights matter - civil, political, economic, social, and cultural. They are not privileges; they are the essentials that uphold dignity, equality, and justice for everyone, everywhere.

Let’s work together to make human rights a reality in our everyday lives.

Last week we attended the NDIS Stronger Together Networking Event hosted by Authentic Support, Plan Partners and Your Choice Matters.

We heard from passionate guest speakers Jack Crispin from Tennis Australia Inclusion Initiative, and James Coleman from Wheelchair Rugby SA. It was a great chance to learn about the opportunities for people with disability to get involved in sport at local, state and international levels.

It was great to hear about Tennis Australia’s Inclusion Initiative and the wonderful opportunities they have for people with disability to play. We loved hearing that SA is home to so many successful tennis players with a disability. The Quad tournament is coming up in January 2026, which is well worth getting along to support. Check out their website for more information and volunteering opportunities 👉 https://www.tennis.com.au/play/inclusive-tennis

James was incredibly inspirational with his story around his lived experience with a disability and his passion for wheelchair rugby. Wheelchair rugby is a fabulous team sport for athletes of any gender with an impairment that affects their arms and legs. To get involved as a player or a volunteer or for more information contact 👉 https://www.wheelchairrugbysa.com.au/home

At Enhanced Lifestyles, we are always on the look out for new activities for our customers to get involved in, and inclusive tennis and wheelchair rugby are two activities we will certainly be passing on.

Today is International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD), a United Nations initiative promoting community awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability. This year’s theme is Fostering disability inclusive societies for advancing social progress.

To mark the occasion, we gathered for morning tea and a special film screening from the Focus on Ability Film Festival. The films are a vibrant celebration of stories that showcase the talents and experiences of people with disability.

Thank you to Focus on Ability Short Film Festival for your generosity in sharing these impactful stories with us, and thank you to all who attended today to celebrate this important day with Enhanced Lifestyles.

New Blog: Summer Safety Tips 🌞

South Australia’s summers are famous for long, sunny days, beach trips, and outdoor adventures, but they can also bring scorching heat, strong UV rays, fire risks and power outages. As warmer weather approaches, it is important to plan and implement strategies for staying safe. This includes knowing how to stay cool, understanding sun protection, and being prepared for bushfires and power outages.

We invite you to read the latest blog post here 👉 https://enhancedlifestyles.com.au/2025/11/20/summer-safety-tips/

Recently we attended the Adelaide Disability Care Connections & Beyond Disability Expo at Hallett Cove.

It was a great community event bringing together people living with a disability, their families, carers, support workers, and service providers. We enjoyed networking with other providers and loved having the opportunity to connect with new people.

Celebrating International Men's Day 2025!

Today we recognise and celebrate the positive value men bring to the world, their families and communities. We highlight positive role models and raise awareness of men’s well-being. The theme for 2025 is “Celebrating Men and Boys”.

Today, we acknowledge and thank the incredible men in our community - our customers, Lifestyle Attendants, staff, Board Members, and all those who champion choice, independence, and inclusion every day.

At Enhanced Lifestyles, we are proud to be part of an organisation that values equality, empowerment, and lived experience, ensuring that the voices of men with disabilities are heard and respected.

Today is Remembrance Day, a day of national commemoration. On this day at 11am, Australians pause in silence for a minute to remember the bravery and sacrifice of the people who lost their lives while serving Australia and its allies in wars, conflicts and peace operations.

They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Lest we forget.
