Enhanced Lifestyles

Enhanced Lifestyles Disability support the way it should be. By you, for you. Adelaide, Riverland and Limestone Coast.

Over thirty years ago, a group of people living with disability realised that no one was better equipped to choose the kind of support they needed than themselves. Honing their knowledge and skills, together they became architects and builders of their own individualised disability services. Today, Enhanced Lifestyles remains a member-governed not-for-profit, our Board is comprised of people who use our services. By designing support services based on lived experience, we deliver the services people want to live life the way they choose.

🌟 Celebrating International Women’s Day at Enhanced Lifestyles 🌟

This International Women’s Day, Enhanced Lifestyles is proud to acknowledge the incredible women who shape our organisation and our community every day, from our CEO, Jane Huscroft, to the women on our Board and advisory groups, our executive and management team, to our corporate staff, support workers, and the women we support through our services.

We also recognise and celebrate the many women who provide care in both paid and unpaid capacities. Whether supporting loved ones, family members, friends, or their broader communities, these women demonstrate extraordinary resilience, compassion, and strength. Their contribution is vital, often unseen, and deeply valued.

Today, we also mark a historic milestone for our organisation.

Jane Huscroft is the first woman to lead Enhanced Lifestyles as CEO in our 30+ year history.

While women have previously served as Chair of the Board, this is the first time a woman has held the top executive role.

Her leadership is defined by passion, commitment, and a drive for continuous improvement. With a focus on stability, strong governance, and empowering others, she is guiding Enhanced Lifestyles into an exciting new era, one grounded in collaboration, innovation, and lived experience.

On this International Women’s Day, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to all the women across our organisation and community who lead, care, advocate, and inspire.

Here’s to the women who uplift others and continue to pave the way forward.

Enhanced Lifestyles customer Anita calls for more accessible cool spaces for people with heat regulation impairments.

For people with living with heat regulation impairments, making plans to meet a friend for coffee or go shopping requires extra consideration. That's why Anita is advocating for the creation of an app or website that shows an Australia-wide map of accessible and cool public facilities.

Today is Rare Disease Day.

Rare Disease Day is a globally coordinated movement dedicated to rare diseases, striving for equity in social opportunities, healthcare, and access to diagnosis and therapies for people living with a rare disease.

Since its creation in 2008, Rare Disease Day has played a crucial role in building an international rare disease community - multi-disease, global, and diverse, yet united in purpose.

300 million people worldwide live with a rare disease. That’s 5% of the world’s population. Today, we stand with them, raise awareness, and work toward a more inclusive and equitable future.

Our first Member Advisory Group (MAG) meeting for 2026 took place recently. This year is shaping up to be an exciting one and we are grateful to have our MAG members with us to help us make Enhanced Lifestyles even more customer focused and ensure that we are embodying our By You, For You message.

Along with the appointment of our new MAG Chair, Lynn Ellison last year, we are absolutely delighted to share that Gavin Maxwell has joined us as the Vice-Chair of the MAG and we have welcomed new member, Anthony, aboard. Please join us in welcoming Lynn, Gavin and Anthony to their new roles within the Member Advisory Group.

The Member Advisory Group was created by a customer and past Chair of the Enhanced Lifestyles Board as a means for customers to provide input and feedback on a topic in the context of our organisation. Simply put, it is a forum for members to affect change that benefits other customers.

Interested in joining the MAG? All Enhanced Lifestyles customers are welcome to apply to join. Get in touch today for more information!

Last week we had the pleasure of attending the DEC West Adelaide and Adelaide South Disability Expos.

It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow disability support providers, exchange insights, and strengthen partnerships across our sector. It was especially great to run into Carly from DLi and James from Just Living and chat about all things disability support.

Our Funding and Engagement Coordinator Isaac even got to try his hand at Amputee Soccer which was super fun!

If you are interested in learning more about the Amputee Soccer Federation Australia , head over to their page and check it out 👉 https://www.facebook.com/p/Amputee-Soccer-Federation-Australia-61574478860772/

Our Senior Leadership team recently met for a Strategic Planning Day to discuss ways we can continue striving for excellence in the sector, strategies for collaboration amongst the team and in the sector and identify opportunities for improvement in our processes.

It was great to be able to meet as a group and talk not only to evaluate the landscape of the disability support sector, but remind ourselves that as a team we have an awesome opportunity to continue making a positive contribution and impact.

"Thank you to our Senior Leadership Team and all employees for your hard work and dedication throughout our strategic planning process. The planning process has been a valuable opportunity to collaborate, refine our key objectives, and shape the future direction of EL. Your compassion, commitment, and collective effort are truly appreciated."
- CEO, Jane Huscroft.
