Does comfort support you or is it draining your life force?

Gold Coast Barrister, Ben Munro just returned from 10 days one-on-one with Darvis on the Tarkine coast for the Wild Man program.

In this clip, Ben shares his insight into the facade of comfort.

๐Ÿ‘‰ You can watch Benโ€™s beautiful 20 minute interview in full via the Wild Man program website here: https://natureculture.samcart.com/products/wildman

Wild Man is a one-on-one guided expedition for men to grow beyond distraction and become a Jedi of their vision, mission, purpose and legacy.

For millennia, men have journeyed into the wild to reflect and connect. Away from the day-to-day grind, nature provides the essential spaciousness to forge a life of meaning.

These 10 day tailored journeys are guided by Darvis Walker on the Tarkine Coast where he has led people on transformative experiences for 23 years.

The WILD MAN program website is LIVE!

Men - Can you clearly and succinctly communicate your life purpose, mission, vision, and legacy?

When a man has clarity on these questions, the metaphorical ship of your life (aka your frame) can navigate anything that the ocean of life sends you. They are your guiding compass that provides motivation, direction and meaning.

Without them, it's easy to get caught in the storm of distractions.

As men, we are inspired by the Jedi archetype as it represents mastery, focus, and leadership that enable us to face the storms of life with ease. Yet these aspects of yourself often need the right context to come fully online.

And there is no better context than wild nature.

Removed from the daily distractions of life, wild places provide the perfect environment to dig in and transform your internal chaos from nemeses to close allies.

For millennia, men have utilised wild nature as a training ground for embodying spaciousness, purpose, and guardianship in their lives.

A mushroom. Wow!!!!

Check out Paul Stammet here discussing how this mushroom converts forest to grass land over millennia, encouraging animals by forging new grazing habitat, that in turn eat and spread the mushroom.

Hey Natureculture supporters, here's an invite..

Our vision.
Our cornerstone vision is a world informed and guided by Nature.. The principle underpinning this vision is very simple, it's this.

Build a culture that prioritises spaciousness.

Spaciousness is the guiding principle underpinning wild place, spaciousness holding complexity. To bridge nature and culture, we simply need to bio mimic this internally and culturally..

Fireside Community by NatureCulture ๐Ÿ”ฅ ๐Ÿ”ฅ ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Fireside is our community space. Beyond our programs, Fireside is our way of bringing spaciousness into culture. Its a facebook group that focuses on holding space to discuss tough topics.

The tag line for Fireside is make space not war.

In essence this means we are committed to leaning toward difference of perspective rather than away from it.

Once a month we hold a Fireside zoom chat..the group votes on topics in a monthly poll, the topic that gets the most votes is the one we focus on.

Fireside is about listening. About making space internally to hold diversity of view..

How to join?
Join us at fireside this month, Tuesday the 9th August, 7pm. Join the group, see comments for the link and click the events tab for the event and the zoom link.

Looking forward to seeing you in there.

Here's to a spacious culture that welcomes diversity

22 years ago, I began guiding groups of humans on transformational journeys in the Tarkine/ Takayna. I've led hundreds of expeditions into this wonderland over this time.
But I'd never been asked to lead a one-on-one journey until a month ago when I was contacted by a Melbourne man, Ronald Bernhard, who was at a turning point in his life.

I took Ronny to the Tarkine coast as the forest at this time of year is dangerous.

For six days we dove deep and Ronny went solo for the first time in his life.

In short, this was a real honour for me. Being able to give all of me to one human was incredibly rewarding. And Ronny was a deeply humble student of the wild.

Now, I have a new friend.

Ronny chose to capture his journey as a legacy piece and reminder of the importance of life perspective.

It's simply beautiful and edited by our in-house NatureCulture documentary film-maker Miles Salani.

This is a beautiful expose of the healthy masculine, courage, focus and vulnerability coming together.

If you wish to see the 13-minute documentary, it's now live on our new YouTube channel.

โ
Darvis Walker, Co-Founder of Naturecultureโ

Darvis Walker is our pioneering bridge between nature and culture with over 20 years of experience guiding people into wild places. Prior to creating Natureculture, he was on the founding team of Tarkine Trails, an eco-tourism social enterprise dedicated to rewilding culture. He ran Tarkine Trails for 12 years, guiding hundreds of multi-day expeditions into this remote & wild corner of Tasmania.

Paralleling this, Darvis has deeply immersed himself in men's work over the last 20 years. His commitment is to guide men's work toward wild places where the ally of nature can deeply support their journey into purpose. Each year, Darvis runs a men's retreat over New Years Eve in the Tarkine in addition to his signature program, The Leap. The Leap is a six-month wild pilgrimage into purpose for men and is the first of its kind (previously housed at ). He also co-runs the mixed gender immersion with his partner & fellow Co-Founder, Britt, that explores the dance of the masculine & feminine in supporting life purpose.

He is the host of the Leap Podcast, a podcast that captures the transformational story of 3 men on The Leap as they head out into the wild. โ The podcast offers a rare insight into the heart of men's work & captures the raw highs, lows & insights of men tracking the big question - "what is my life purpose?".
โ
Additionally, Darvis offers tailored 1-1 programs for men who are serious about getting on purpose, leading with confidence & embodying their wild man. Every program is personalised to the unique needs of each man but you can count on an unforgettable rite of passage among some of Tasmania's wildest locations.

He is an exceptionally talented musician, business visionary & the brains behind NatureCulture's video work. He's also the leading man behind our epic Fireside community - a safe space for having meaningful fireside-style conversations that welcome diversity & facilitate understanding. Check out the link in our bio for more info ๐Ÿ”ฅ

We'll have more info about Darvis's upcoming programs soon but feel free to reach out if you're keen for a chat.

๐Ÿ”ฅ GUARDIANSHIP ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Removed from nature, our inner spaciousness, the great gift of the wild, requires guarding.

Guardianship is the art of forging inner space as the world unconsciously tries to pull us into an agenda not born of our own creative purpose.

Hold firm boundaries at the gates of your spaciousness. Like a bouncer at the door of your being.

Be discerning as to who is allowed in the door.

True allies of purpose don't want your niceties, they want your growth.

We envision a world connected & enriched by ceremonial firesides. Our combined experience of 30 years of facilitating journeys in wild places has revealed profound insights into the nature of ceremonial firesides.

When humans gather around a fire and are offered a safe space to share, profound healing & transformation occurs. It's always been that way, it's called community.

As polarisation in our world grows, Fireside spaces offer a safe place to welcome difference, to welcome diversity of view, and to ensure that people feel heard, respected, and understood for who, how, and where they are in their life.

๐Ÿ”ฅ OUR FREE FIRESIDE COMMUNITY ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Our Fireside Community serves as a space to connect with other people who hold this vision alight. Opportunities for connection include regular online & in-person Fireside events hosted within and by the community.

These events act as a training ground for deep listening and holding space; both core principles when forging a culture informed by nature.

We are currently using a private Facebook group to build & maintain relationships with the Fireside community & we intend to transition communications to a custom-built app in the future.

๐Ÿ‘‰ You can join the group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/402075898318365

Our vision is to see Fireside conversations happening across the globe, held by Firekeepers just like you. These events may be hosted online, in your backyard, in the boardroom, or even at your family dining table.

Eventually, we hope to build a global network of safe spaces that people can rely upon for an authentic sense of community and belonging - no matter where you are in the world.

Importantly, we also know that we canโ€™t get there without you! Resilient movements require collective intelligence ๐Ÿ”ฅ They require co-evolution and diversity. Nature models these essential principles for us to follow if we are paying attention. Thus, this is our invitation to you:

Help us grow Fireside and evolve it with us. Get in touch to become a Firekeeper & host a gathering. Share your creative ideas for how to make it better. Contribute your expertise and experience where you see a need.

This is the foundation of a natureculture ๐ŸŒฟ

Join us for our next Fireside yarn at Tuesday 7pm AEST

It's free to attend, you just need to be a member of the group.

07/05/2022

๐ŸŒฟ BELONGING ๐ŸŒฟ

It's one thing to live and lead with a strong sense of purpose but itโ€™s another to feel truly seen and supported in it by our community.

At our core, all humans long to feel seen, heard and valued. Not just for the shop-front we present to the world but for the depths of our heart and our creative fire.

This is the source of true belonging ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Unfortunately, mainstream culture is not geared to understand purpose let alone support it. Itโ€™s more concerned with you paying your taxes and following the 9-5 script, rather than seeing you utterly thrive as your authentic self. As a result, few humans experience true belonging in their life and make the compromise of just fitting in and getting by.

Yet we are made for so much more than this.

You were born here for a reason and you are deeply needed.

But as innately ecological creatures, we can only get so far alone.

What is required is a collective purpose oriented around our interconnectedness with nature and modelled on ecological principles that foster an undeniable sense of belonging.

We need a metaphorical and literal village, a community of LIFE-minded humans supporting each other like a forest to thrive with purpose.

All our programs are created with this idea of the village at their core.

Our long-term vision for NatureCulture is also to create a model of business that operates like a village. An ecosystem of purpose-filled humans each playing their unique, sovereign part that totally revolutionises top-down hierarchies and replaces it with mycelium-like networks that share nutrients, work together, and spread wellbeing to others. Itโ€™s like permaculture but in a business!

In the near future, we will also offer village-style programs that welcome all members of the community, especially families. These programs are oriented around forging a culture where belonging, like purpose, is second nature.

If this resonates with you - get in touch ๐Ÿ”ฅ

07/05/2022

๐Ÿ”ฅ LEAD FROM YOUR CREATIVE FIRE ๐Ÿ”ฅ

One of the key pillars of forging a natureculture is tracking and embodying our purpose.

Yet once you have a clear sense of purpose, then what?

Where to go with it? And how do you sustain the fire?

One of the biggest blindspots in our current culture is that we desperately need mature, integrated leaders but we fail to provide safe spaces for people to actually PRACTICE leading from their unique creative expression.

As a result, few people develop the skills and confidence to translate their purpose into a meaningful contribution.

Not only does this influence the individual in feeling seen and valued in their life, but the whole village misses out on their genius. And that sucks!

We aim to bridge this gap by offering leadership opportunities and training for the Longing/Leap graduates beyond their initial rite of passage.

Mentorship in facilitation/guiding, public speaking, holding space, and ritual creation will be cornerstones of these leadership offerings. Training in specific tools such as Natural Selection, the EARTHED Framework (Brittโ€™s PhD work), and the Fireside model will also be available for those keen beans.

We also welcome our community to contribute their own ideas and offerings to this leadership space so the collective intelligence is nurtured and the NC village grows.
