Hello all! 🫶

After a much need long break, I am making some exciting changes to the natural products and services I offer, and would like to update you on what's happening that you may be interested in.

My signature recovery program called the Chronic To Cured Collective is still available to those ready to take back control of their own health, with guided support and resources, as a monthly membership.

The exciting addition is that I am getting back to my first love and roots of where I started, with essential oils and low-tox fragrances! I have always been and still am a DoTerra Wellness Advocate, and when I first launched From Chronic To Cured Wellness, it was with my handmade low-tox fragrance and wellness products.

Making swaps to low-tox products in the household was a huge help to my recovery from fatigue and thyroid issues, to minimise inflammation and inflammatory reactions in my body, while benefiting from the incredible aromatherapy and calming benefits of the oils. Low-tox swaps are a major aspect to my recovery programs as well, so this is a natural addition to help make these changes so much easier for you in your home.

I have not found higher quality oils than DoTerra in the 10 years I've been using essential oils, not to mention the quality and affordability of their household and body products that I also use.

A simple guacamole on toast! Guac recipe below 👇🏻 Give it a go and let me know what you think! Pop a🥑 in the comments if you love guac! 🥑

Makes 2 serves

1 avocado
1/8 to 1/4 cup diced red onion
1-2 Tbsp lime juice
1/2 Tsp cumin
Fresh torn coriander
Chili flakes (optional to taste)
Salt and pepper to taste

Mash it all up in one bowl and enjoy as a dip, on toast or with your fave Mexican dish!

It's very common to get stuck in a cycle of reacting to autoimmune symptoms, anticipating them. And it becomes what controls you. A vicious cycle of never getting ahead of them or having the capacity to get ahead and be proactive.

Add in family, kids, partner, work, responsibilities, and you're constantly reacting to their needs and wants (I affectionately call it ‘headless chicken syndrome’!). As mums especially, we put ourselves last instinctively, and as a result have nothing left for ourselves. This eventually results in not having anything left for the family either. Reacting means having a constant survival mode ‘fight/flight’ nervous system and adds to fatigue and symptoms.

There is a small thing you can do to start to break that vicious cycle...give yourself permission to heal, to put yourself first and choose to be a responder, rather than a reactor.

Healing comes from within - from the inside out, not from the outside in. It is a MUST to fill up your own cup of energy and love first, so you have that to give to others when needed. So take a moment when someone speaks to you or something happens around you. Allow for that moment of thought so you can take a breath and respond appropriately and in your own way, rather than react mindlessly and give your control, emotions and power away to what’s happening around you. Being a responder helps create that habit of preserving your energy, promoting calm, supporting a ‘rest and digest’ nervous system, and develops a mindful attitude where you are in control.

The above affirmation is short and sweet. Something you can say repeatedly to develop that confidence and ability to respond, and cement it as a recovery habit.

Give this affirmation a chance and your mental health and recovery won't be far behind.

An easy addition to your daily smoothie, to support fatigue and thyroid autoimmune recovery 🌻

Spirulina is also a powerful remover of heavy metals (binds on to heavy metals to help the body detox), and is part of my favourite recovery smoothie, the Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie by Anthony William (Medical Medium book series) - see recipe below 👇🏻

Organic spirulina is available in most health food stores and even supermarkets such as Coles (in Australia) in the health food isle 😄💪🏼

HEAVY METAL DETOX SMOOTHIE (also available on medicalmedium.com website)

2 bananas
2 cups frozen or fresh wild blueberries, or 2 ounces pure wild blueberry juice, or 2 tablespoons pure wild blueberry powder
1 cup tightly packed fresh cilantro
1 teaspoon barley grass juice powder*
1 teaspoon spirulina
1 tablespoon Atlantic dulse or 2 dropperfuls Atlantic dulse liquid*
1 orange, juiced
1⁄2 to 1 cup water, coconut water, or additional fresh-squeezed orange juice (optional)

Directions:

In a high speed blender, blend all ingredients until smooth. If a thinner consistency is desired, add up to 1 cup of water. Enjoy!

Optional: Water, coconut water or fresh orange juice to blend.

This week's affirmation:

Yes you do!

You control your own health, mind and body. Your body is an instrument of the mind and the mind/body connection is very real.

This affirmation is my coaching MANTRA that I remind my clients, friends and family as much as possible!

Anyone pursuing answers every day to why they are unwell, questioning anything to do with their wellness and keeping an open mind, is in control of their health.

I truly understood this affirmation when I found the root cause of my chronic fatigue syndrome and Hashimoto’s autoimmune symptoms (viral - EBV / Glandular Fever), triggered by stress and lifestyle circumstances. Prior to understanding the root cause, I didn’t think I controlled my health. I felt I was being controlled by years of symptoms such as inflammation, headaches, body ache, brain fog, and fatigue to name a few. To a degree I was. Western medicine couldn’t do any more for me and I was told that I would just have to manage my symptoms and be on medication for the rest of my life.

I soon realised that despite feeling controlled by those symptoms, I was still in control of my health because I never once gave up on finding something that could help me improve my quality of life! It was through sheer determination, commitment and my sense of controlling what I could, that improved my confidence and belief in my body and mind, and realising that recovery was actually possible! I always remained open to healing.

I do not look back with regrets. I look back to learn and grow from my experiences.

You control your health! Your health does not control you!

This week's affirmation:

"𝗜 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝘆𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁, 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀." 💪🏼

I developed thyroid autoimmune issues and subsequent Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) from an underlying viral load (the root cause being EBV or Epstein-Bar Virus / Glandular Fever). The CFS was triggered by long-term stress and unfathomable circumstances of caring for my late husband, Matt. I look back on that time and wonder if I could have done anything different to be stronger for my family.

I realized that I don’t think there is anything I could have done differently. I did what I could and what I had to do to get through each day. That's all anyone can do.

I can now look back on that time with perspective and to learn from my body’s limitations and capabilities. What I can and can’t do, what I can and can’t eat. This came from a sudden spark to live and not settle for a diagnosis without getting to the root cause, plus reading and finding alternative holistic options when conventional medicine couldn’t help.

I looked after myself first to recover and tap into my limitless inner strength, energy and potential, which then allowed me to have what I needed to take care of my family and friends.

Fill up your cup first with self-care so you have what you need to support others that rely on you.

It’s not selfish to put yourself first, it’s essential.

My personal transformation...

I suffered for 7 years with ME/CFS (chronic fatigue) and 20 years with fluctuating Hashimoto's Thyroiditis autoimmune symptoms, caused by an undiagnosed EBV viral load and triggered by high level long term stress (my late husband Matthew was diagnosed with Young Onset Dementia in 2013. He passed away in 2015 at age 36🌻).

I struggled daily with:
