You’ll often hear me say, “It’s never too late to start.”

While I usually mean exercise, the truth is this applies to everything in life.

With that in mind, I’d like to share something personal. After competing at the National Masters Women's Hockey Championships in Hobart last year, I was selected to represent Australia in the O45 Australian A Team, travelling to the Netherlands in July/August this year.

I’ve held this achievement close to my chest — not because it isn’t important to me, but because despite what you might assume, I’ve always struggled with self-belief.

I’m sharing this for two reasons: accountability — so I keep showing up, even when life gets messy, to prioritise sleep, nutrition, training and recovery so I can perform at my best — and to remind you (and myself) that it’s never too late to set new goals and make meaningful change.

Hockey has always been a huge part of my life, yet for many years — like many other things — it sat on the back burner (or was constantly interrupted), while I raised our family, and in the process, I lost a large part of my identity.

Family is incredible, but losing yourself doesn’t have to be part of the deal.

I think that I am living proof that despite your age, how long it’s been, or how many injuries you’ve had — adversity you have faced — anything is possible!

I hope this resonates with some of you; that it might spark change, encourage you to try something new or strive to achieve that long lost goal.

Follow me on my road to the Netherlands 🇳🇱

NEW PROGRAM ALERT 🤍 | ReBuild

Introducing ReBuild — an 8-week Strength & Conditioning program (6-weeks in term 1), for postpartum women ready to take the next step in their training.

Led by Sophie Kuncio (mum of two & one of Hobart’s most experienced female coaches), ReBuild supports your gradual return to barbell training, compound lifts and structured strength work — all while continuing to prioritise core function, pelvic floor awareness and long-term health.

This is strength training designed for real life. Because postpartum doesn’t end — and neither should your support.

PROGRAM DETAILS:
📅 Starts: 25th February
📍 Wednesdays 10:40am | Hype Gym, Cambridge
💰 $180
👶 Babies & children welcome

Note: ReBuild is also perfectly suited to women at any stage who want to learn new skills, refine technique, improve form, and build strength in a supported environment.

This photo was taken in 2005 — blissfully unaware that in five short years Mum wouldn’t be with us.

Her stage 4 glioblastoma diagnosis in 2009 altered our world and my outlook on life forever.

We’ve missed so many birthdays together.

Always my mum - Happy 74th Birthday xx

Reminder: take lots of photos with your loved ones. Sadly I have very few pictures of mum and I.

One of the most common things women say during MumSTRONG is:
“I finally feel confident in my body again.”

Confidence doesn’t come from doing more — it comes from understanding what your body needs and trusting it again.

That’s what MumSTRONG is about:
• Feeling strong in daily life
• Moving without fear
• Returning to exercise with confidence
Term 1 2026 registrations are now open ✨
Tuesday - Hype Gym, Cambridge: 10:40am
Thursday - Lindisfarne Rowing Club: 10:30am

Family, Friends, Fun, Fitness + Food!

My name is Sarah and I love living in Tasmania. I am a mum to four children and wife to an amazing man that knows the way to my heart is through my stomach. He’s a true keeper!

After having my forth child and returning to exercise myself, it became obvious to me the lack of specialised and qualified women's fitness trainers. I saw this as an opportunity to help not only mums but women in general to understand their bodies better, feel good about themselves and to safely return to exercise.

MY GOAL:

I want to help women to feel strong! I want to help women find ways to prioritise their own health + wellbeing.
