WELCOME
Welcome to Kuuma – where the essence lies in disconnecting and rejuvenating your mind and body, harnessing the power of nature and heat in a bespoke sauna. Our sauna design considerations are focused around large glazing enabling sweeping views of the Tasmanian landscape, from a warm and relaxing space. An added benefit is the direct access and connection to the surrounding environment. KUUMA VISION
Our aim at Kuuma is simple yet profound—to be part of and grow a sauna community in Australia. We invite you to join us on this journey where the pace slows down, and you have the chance to pause and embrace the present moment. KUUMA ORIGIN
The name 'Kuuma' embodies the essence of warmth, both literal and metaphorical. Beyond its Finnish linguistic roots, 'Kuuma' symbolises our commitment to providing escapes where you can find solace from the chill of everyday life, immersing yourself in the timeless tradition of sauna relaxation. THE PONTOON BOAT
Kuuma pontoon boat is a bespoke custom designed commercial tour vessel, specifically built for sauna cruising. It can comfortably accommodate for sauna aficionados on open water experiences to various locations in the North West Bay, Southern Tasmania.

We’ll hold the heat. You let your shoulders drop.
Let the rush of the week soften and slip away.

Today we introduce JACOB

I am a convert to the island life. After moving down for work I fell in love with the place and decided not to leave.

When I’m not working at Kuuma, I’m up the road on a blueberry farm in Margate or slinging Guinness to travellers and locals at a pub in town.

The rest of my time is spent reading, relaxing with my dogs or cajoling my friends into boardgames.

Come aboard Kuuma, relax and enjoy the beauty of the island. It will help you understand how I got stuck in our country’s best “city”.

Today we introduce BIANCA

Living in the Tassie bush I split my time between facilitating conversations around big complex challenges, wandering in wild places, and getting salty in cold water whenever I can.

Once an engineer but much happier with sand between my toes, I love to freedive for my own seafood, shake it out with a good dance, or curl up with a good book.

On sauna days, I trade fins for firewood keep the heat rolling and the vibe slow and grounded. The thing I love about sauna is there’s no way to get it wrong!

Today we introduce GWYNETH (GWYN)

Living on a small block by the ocean on Bruny Island, I spend my time swimming, crocheting beanies and dreaming of my next indoor plant purchase.

Running a small business as a landscape gardener most of the week, you’ll find me driving Kuuma and keeping the fire hot over the weekend.

The sauna is a place for me to completely relax and the contrast of deep wood-fired heat and invigorating Tasmanian water is like nothing else.

This season, our team; Bianca, Gwyneth, Helena, and Jacob, have been training alongside Nathan, learning every part of running Kuuma on the water and on ground, with the ultimate goal of becoming skippers themselves.

Today we introduce…

HELENA

After three years hiking Tassie’s mountains and forests as a Wilderness Guide I’ve hung up my boots (at least on sauna days) and taken to the seas to get to know a different side of the island I love.

For me, being on Kuuma is all about slowing down, getting quiet and staying connected to the landscapes that inspire my work and my wellbeing.

Off the boat, you’ll usually find me practising Craniosacral Therapy, running immersive wilderness adventures down south, scribbling poetry in the bush and drinking plenty of tea.

We are taking a short break and will be back on the water on Friday 12 December. You can still book your next session up to 60 days in advance.

When we are back on Friday 12 December after our break, towels will be provided for all Kuuma sessions – a little extra comfort waiting for you on board.
