The "social" aspect of the biopsychosocial approach to chronic pain treatment seems somewhat nebulous to a lot of people. This article describes it simply and gives you potential approaches to using it to improve quality of life.

A great blog post from Dr Leesa Van Niekerk who works in Hobart as a clinical psychologist.

Self care and the stress of the endometriosis journey, particularly useful for a lot of patients during the COVID crisis that is ongoing.

I meant to post this when it was first published in early April but around the same time I got absolutely hammered by COVID and the stresses of that crazy time and completely forgot about it. However, the contents of the blog are just as pertinent now as they were then.

My role as a clinical psychologist and researcher has given me the opportunity to hear the stories of women living with endometriosis. It has also allowed me to hear the perspectives of others who provide care and support, such as partners, and medical and allied healthcare practitioners.

Safe work Australia has developed information to help employers to support workers who have endometriosis. A great step forward!!!

This information sheet has been prepared as part of the 2018 National Action Plan for Endometriosis. It is aimed primarily at employers to increase awareness of the prevalence and impact this chronic disease has on workers and its potential impact on workplace safety.
