Ironically my anxiety spiked a bit during this week’s parent seminar on Anxiety. Thank you to the amazing K-6 Parents at St Mary’s College for tolerating the tech issues we had! We got there in the end with some flexibility and a great team of helpers. I had so much fun working with the grade 4 and 5 students earlier this week too- so engaged, supportive of each other and some phenomenal role play skills!

We had such a great time at Austins Ferry Primary this week developing understanding and skills for building social power in positive ways and working on seeing things from other people’s perspective. A huge thank you for welcoming us into your learning spaces.

What a fabulous few weeks at Hutchins (Year 2) and Collegiate (years 3,4 & 7) with Fleur delivering our TRIBE friendships and mean behaviour workshops. The students had so much to contribute and now have a framework for understanding mean behaviour, how to respond in a way that protects their social power, and also how to build their social power in positive ways. The younger children had fun role playing assertiveness and creating their own characters with social superpowers (like Coconut Bro who shoots kindness coconuts). After a huge Term 1 at Howrah, Albuera St, Taroona, Mt Nelson & CatholicCare- we are looking forward to more student workshops this term. 🎤 Thank you to the 75 wonderful parents, carers and teachers who came to Navigating Friendships last night. It was so lovely to be able to chat with many of you afterwards. Funds raised from these events go towards developing and resourcing our student workshops in a sustainable way. We love the work we do supporting children and this village makes that possible.

🗓️The next public event is May 6th: Befriending Anxiety - helping children find their Brave. We hope to see you there. ⭐️

Fleur will be helping Lisa deliver student workshops- (she’s a very experienced primary school teacher and she has a Grad Certif in Psychology & Applied Positive Psychology with Children & Adolescents).

These 1 hour workshops are designed to give younger children a shared understanding and language around mean behaviour, social power (& protecting it) and much more.
