Our Wisdom and Wonder playgroup sessions are back on this Friday!
Come along for some watery fun at our 🐚🦭under the sea⛵🦞 session. We can't wait to see all our little friends, and welcome some new faces! 🥰

At this week’s Wisdom & Wonder Play at Barossa Park Lodge Glenorchy, OneCare, we used our new Playgroup Tasmania cue cards to spark thoughtful conversation between the children and their grandfriends.
The question of the day was:
“What makes you feel brave and strong?”
We loved hearing the different responses:
✨ “Eating crusts” – child
✨ “Holding Mum’s hand” – child
✨ “The vacuum cleaner” – child (with a proud mum sharing how he’s been overcoming his fear!)
✨ “Being able to cope with things” – older participant
✨ “Being kind to people and helping others” – older participant

It was our pleasure to host some of the Harbison team down from New South Wales today!
Our NSW vs TAS 🚲cycling State of Origin🚲 may be a competition, but in reality, it's brought us closer together around a common goal of active, social, engaged residents. Ride on!

We are off and racing in the Motiview State of Origin virtual bike race against NSW! 🚲
The two-week competition sees Harbison and OneCare go head-to-head, with the goal of motivating each other to ride 10,000km in total over the fortnight.
We're a week into the comp and finding our feet, as part of a team with Umina Park Burnie, OneCare and The Manor Kings Meadows, OneCare. This has been a great way to encourage more residents to try out the tech and get active while socialising! 🏁

Our intergenerational playgroup sessions with Playgroup Tasmania - South are a wonderful opportunity for residents and young people to come together and share laughter and learning. As you can see from the video, last week's dinosaur theme was a big hit 🦖!

💐This National Volunteer Week, we're shining a light on the amazing OneCare volunteers who make such a difference in our residents' lives!
Today we're celebrating Barossa Park Lodge volunteer ✨Leeann Carr✨:
Leeann is a ‘Jack-of-all-trades’ assisting with all activities from word games, craft, bus trips, happy hours and one-on-one visits.
"I love spending time with the residents, making them smile and giving back to the elderly. When I was in visiting my Dad who is a resident at Barossa Park Lodge, I loved interacting with everyone there and thought why not volunteer?"

There is always something happening at OneCare’s Barossa Park Village. Whether it be aquatic exercise groups or Tai Chi at the YMCA Wellness and Community Centre, weekly visits from the Tiny Tackers Children’s Centre or live music and delicious coffee with a toasted sandwich at our busy café.
