🌟 BODYSYSTEM Director, Kellie Wilkie, made her way to New Zealand to celebrate the career of Dennis Shepherd on the weekend. Dennis is retiring after 47 years in the Physiotherapy profession, 4 of which were at BODYSYSTEM. Many of our patients will recognise his familiar face. So many of us benefited from seeing Dennis as a patient or being mentored by him.

🌟 Dennis’s career has mainly been spent in New Zealand where he has worked for others, run his own business within a larger multidisciplinary clinic, been the Physio for the Waikato Chiefs Rugby Team for a number of years and travelled with the All Blacks Rugby Team – one of the most famous and successful teams in the world!

🌟 Dennis’s career has impacted so many people in a positive way, he still comes to visit us when he is in Hobart and makes sure he lines it up with one of our education sessions every time! Best wishes for what comes next Dennis and thank you for all that you have given to BODYSYSTEM πŸ™

πŸ‘‰ These are injuries to the Proximal Interphalangeal Joint (middle joint) of the finger. They happen quite often in sport where you go to catch the ball and it hyperextends your finger and dislocates, or from diving to the ground for a catch or tackle and bend your finger back.

πŸ‘‰ Fran Black, Jen Woodward and Adam Knapek, are certified hand therapists β€” with Paul Tho well on his way to achieving accreditation.

Our hand therapists at BODYSYSTEM offer care for a wide range of hand and upper limb issues, focusing on recovery from injuries, managing pain and discomfort and improving overall hand function and comfort πŸ™Œ

Appointments can be booked online πŸ‘‰ www.bodysystem.com.au

✨Kate Moore and Nick Wilson are BODYSYSTEM Sports & Exercise Physiotherapists who have supported the Tasmanian Hockey Teams in the Hockey One Competition through their roles as consultants of Tasmanian Institute of Sport Physiotherapists.

The Men’s team made the Grand Final match on the weekend and ended up with the silver medal for the competition. The Women’s team just missed out on the finals. Such great results for Tas πŸ‘πŸ‘

BODYSYSTEM

We believe that physiotherapy goes beyond the treatment room.

BODYSYSTEM was founded by Kellie Wilkie in 2001 with Fiona Hamilton joining the leadership team in 2014. Since that time the core value of maintaining a healthy and happy team has remained unchanged, which Kellie and Fiona both believe will deliver the highest quality services to our clients and referrers.

Our physiotherapists and exercise physiologists complete thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment plans which lead to self-management. This may include a combination of manual therapy, education and exercise.

As part of our comprehensive approach, we have developed several small group physiotherapy and exercise physiology programs held at our Rehab Studio, that target specific rehabilitation aims. Our casting and bracing service is provided by specially trained physiotherapists.
