Today I gave this very loved Akubra a little extra love! Memphis is now the star of the show. I was not a fan of doing people's pets but I'm feeling much more confident in my work and felt excited to do my first Kelpie.

Thank you A Taste of the Huon for having us again, below is our story from our first ever Taste to what we have now.

Every business has a starting point. Ours began with a small stall, a few handmade products, and a big dream.

The Beginning,
When we first started Love Thy Lava, our table was filled with handmade creations. We were making lava stone bracelets and necklaces, along with handcrafted wooden chopping boards and unique timber pieces. Everything we sold was made by hand, and every market we attended was a chance to learn, improve, and share something we had created ourselves.
Those early days were about taking a chance, putting ourselves out there, and building something from the ground up.

The Next Chapter…
As our journey continued, our creativity kept growing. We expanded into handmade candles, adding another element to what we offered and continuing to experiment with new ideas. Each step helped us learn more about our craft and what direction our small business could take.

Where We Are Today
Today, Love Thy Lava has grown into something truly special for our family.
Our focus is now on hand-burnt designer hats, carefully crafted on wool and polyester hats. Every design is individually burned by hand, meaning no two hats are ever exactly the same. Each one is a unique piece that carries its own character and style.

What makes this journey even more meaningful is that it has become a true family business.

Our son Noah has now joined the creative side of things and designs his own custom cups and T-shirts. Watching him bring his ideas to life and become part of the business has been one of the proudest and most rewarding parts of this entire journey.

From lava stone jewellery and chopping boards, to candles, and now to designer hats and Noah’s original creations, our journey has been one of growth, learning, and passion.
Looking back at where we started and seeing where we are today reminds us how far we’ve come.

None of it would have been possible without the incredible support from everyone who has stopped by our stall, purchased something we’ve made, shared our page, or simply encouraged us along the way.

Small businesses grow because of communities like ours, and for that we are truly grateful.
This is only the beginning for Love Thy Lava — and we’re excited to see where the next chapter takes us.
