🧡 Happy World Mental Health Day! 🧡

Orange was chosen by Mental Health Tasmania as this year’s official color for its warm, inviting, and uplifting qualities – and the same can be said of our amazing "Orange Ambassador," AJ!

Although you can't see them, AJ's shoes perfectly match her vibrant orange hair, and her new scrubs from TradeMutt are the ideal complement. Today, as we celebrate, take a moment to appreciate the little things that brighten our days and lift our spirits.

Let’s continue the conversation about mental health and spread positivity wherever we can. 🧡

This year, it's all about taking a moment to "Appreciate the Little Things." 🌸
In our busy lives, it's easy to overlook the small joys—whether it's a warm cup of coffee, a kind smile, or a quiet moment to breathe. These little things can make all the difference to our mental well-being. 🌟

Take some time this week to pause, reflect, and find gratitude in the simple moments. 💚 Let's nurture our minds by embracing life's small wonders. 🌿

Today we came together to share morning tea and highlighted the importance for everyone to check in with each other and ask the simple question. R U OK?

Today is and a reminder to start a conversation that could change a life.

A message from Su***de Prevention Australia’s CEO, Nieves Murray, on World Su***de Prevention Day.

Today, I’d like to acknowledge the suffering su***de brings when it touches our lives. We are brought together by lived and living experience and are unified by hope.

World Su***de Prevention Day is an important reminder to work together to prevent su***de, raise awareness and encourage conversations. It’s also a reminder that we can do this every day.

Whether it’s upskilling by participating in su***de prevention training, educating yourself on the impact of su***de on our local communities, or making time to check in with those around you to have a meaningful conversation – we can all make a difference.

Each year over 3,000 people die by su***de and around 65,000 attempt to take their life. Behind every number is a face, and a network of family, friends and colleagues that are impacted.

Fortunately, more people than ever are reaching out for support. We need to make sure that those in distress can receive timely access to quality care.

As the peak body for su***de prevention, we will continue to work closely with our members across the sector to improve the quality of services and programs, influence policy reform, and lead knowledge sharing.

Every life lost to su***de is a tragedy.
Let’s continue to work together to save lives and share messages of hope.

We all have a role to play in preventing su***de.
In the lead up to World Su***de Prevention Day, check out this 'Support when you're concerned about su***de' guide from our member, SANE.

Their guide is designed to help people having thoughts of su***de recognise warning signs, find the right support, and keep safe. It has information for managing life if you have experienced a su***de attempt. There is also advice for families and friends.
