The gluteal muscles are divided into superficial and deep layers, each with distinct roles in hip movement and stability ⚖️
The superficial gluteal muscles - gluteus maximus, gluteus medius, gluteus minimus, and tensor fasciae latae - primarily control hip extension, abduction, and medial rotation while stabilizing the pelvis during movement 🤩 Beneath them, the deep gluteal muscles - piriformis, obturator internus, gemelli (superior and inferior), and quadratus femoris - act mainly as lateral rotators of the hip, providing fine control and stability to the joint 🦵
Together, these muscles create strength, balance, and mobility in the hips and pelvis 🏃

🐟 Fatty fish (wild-caught salmon, sardines, mackerel) – Rich in omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) which reduce inflammatory markers.
🫐 Blueberries – Packed with antioxidants like anthocyanins that lower oxidative stress.
🥬 Leafy greens (spinach, kale, silverbeet) – High in vitamins, minerals, and polyphenols that support anti-inflammatory pathways.
🫒 Olive oil (extra virgin) – Contains healthy monounsaturated fats and compounds like oleocanthal, which act similarly to anti-inflammatory drugs.
