Tai Chi Hobart

Tai Chi Hobart Classes are on MONDAYS FROM 5:30pm. The instruction of Tai Ji Quan at the Hobart Chinese Community Centre in North Hobart focuses on this fundamental tenet.

Tai Chi Hobart teaches Tai Ji Quan; an "internal" martial arts system for self defence that has fantastic health benefits deriving from one's application to their training. To experience the full range of health benefits that the practice of Tai Ji Quan offers, knowledge and application of the martial intention of each movement in the form is essential. Come and learn to align your movements from your core by combining relaxation and intention. Coordinating slow rhythmic movement with breath and balance will contribute to a meditative state of mind and sense of well-being at the end of each class. The principles of Tai Ji Quan emphasize

...the promotion of core strength
And the directing ones movement from their centre

Well, with a late notice of the CCAT hall not being available, Taichi classes will not start until after Feb 22. Sorry to say that there are no classes this week or for another two weeks after that!

Master Liu workshop for March 22/23.
Cost is $150 Saturday (focus is on deeper understanding of Beijing 24 form & family neigong) and $250 Saturday & Sunday (focus on family neigong and introduction to Beijing 88 form - an extension of the Beijing 24). Times are 9-4pm Saturday at the Chinese community hall. Sunday will be 9-3pm at Midway point community hall. This will be a fantastic event to deepen your feeling for the way of taichi in our family tradition.

Thanks to all my understudies in this fabulous artform for another year of attending classes and growing in awareness and application of flow and release. Tonight’s class will be the last for the year. Classes will recommence at the start of February 2025. Enjoy the festive season!
