Have had an amazing experiences with JoJo (Hey Dee Ho Intergenerational teacher) who does sessions at both Manor Court and Bapcare centres in Wyndham area. I love each session I can get to and the connections made with JoJo and the children gets stronger each time we go. I also love engaging and connecting with the residents too and it puts a smile on everyone’s faces. Can’t wait for the sessions to begin next year and thanks again, throughly enjoy these opportunities.

I love how we can engage in nature and let each child just be. They are also collecting nature tools for their gifts to their parents and we will enjoy a lovely lunch together before we head back home. This is one of the reasons I throughly enjoy being a family daycare educator.

Today we went to the You Yangs and took part in a variety of experiences for NAIDOC Week. We placed a variety of tools for the children to see, feel and explore with. We read the story “ The Rainbow Serpent”, followed by drawing using charcoal, making hand prints using the colours to represent the Aboriginal Flag and freely engaging in nature.
We enjoyed our lunch in the sunshine before heading home.

Today we celebrated Superhero day with my scheme Cheeky Pandas at the farm with other educators and children. This is to help raise funds for and spread awareness of this charity The children were able to explore a variety of play spaces and I did a group time using an interactive heart toy which engaged the children.
My account is still open and haven’t got an end total yet, so will upgrade everyone once it’s finalised.

Throughout March we made the most of this beautiful weather and extended our classroom to be taken outdoors. We explore play spaces from within my learning environment, set them up in master and also exploring our natural environment too. We have been going monthly to Hey Dee Ho Intergenerationsl at Manor court and Bapt Care Werribee. The children are becoming familiar with the residents and continue to engage in the music session.
Looking forward to more fun adventures together

We went again to engage in Intergenerational Hey Dee Ho at Manor court and my children showed signs of gaining a sense of belonging. They did this by engaging with the residents more on their own and joined in the session more too. My aim is to continue to participate regularly and for everyone to have a sense of belonging and the environment to be a positive experience for all.

My name is Julie I am a Qualified early childhood educator running my own Family Day
Care business from home in Tarneit.

Level 2 First aid, Anaphylaxis, Asthma and CPR
Child protection training.
Food handling certificate
Public Liability
Car Restraint Check
Police Check
I take the children out on excursions into the community to experience real life situations. The children
become involved learners discovering science and nature-based play, cultural diversity, road safety,
navigating risky play safely, behaviour management as well as making connections with the local community
in which they belong.
I currently have Monday -Friday positions available for 0-5 years of age starting from the 7th April.

Today we explored experiences set up during a session with The Bush Bus in Mambourin. My children were able to freely engage in a variety of exploration both on their own and next to each other. With other children there, it gave my children the opportunity to strengthen their sharing and turn taking skills, as well as being creative when exploring the large LEGO blocks.
Will make this a monthly experience so my children can explore in their community and to both strengthen their current skill sets and to make new discoveries too.

Had a great morning enjoying intergenerational Hey Dee Ho session at Bapt Care Wyndham Lodge. This was our first time here and with this becoming more familiar to my children, they engaged a bit more today. They moved around the room, said hi to everyone and help hand out instruments too. Will be engaging in this for an extended amount of time too.

Today I explored play in an outdoor setting. We went to the mansion alongside Birdys Family Day Care and set up in a cool, open space for the children to freely explore and enjoy the fresh air too. Fidgets, drawing and nature exploration was available to each child and we encouraged them to be in the now either on their own or alongside others. We were able to hear the different sounds the magpies make too.
A must do again soon.

Today we took the opportunity to explore a water playground with the weather being nice before it got too hot. As you can see my children freely engaged in all areas of the water playground and even explored alongside each other too. By doing this I’m helping them to gain confidence in their own abilities, as well as gaining a sense of belonging in all environments they engage in. A must do again with my other children.
