Physio Fact: Chronic pain is fundamentally different from acute pain.

While acute pain is your body's alarm system - short-term and directly linked to injury or tissue damage - chronic pain can persist for months or even years, often continuing long after the original tissues have healed.

Understanding this difference is crucial because chronic pain requires a different approach to management. It's not just about 'fixing' damaged tissue anymore - it's about retraining your nervous system and developing comprehensive coping strategies.

If you're dealing with persistent pain, know that it's real, it's valid, and there are effective ways to manage it.
