👉 Push the mat away and wrap the shoulder blades wide
👉 Upper arms rotate out, triceps hug in
👉 Neck stays long, ears move away from shoulders

This creates support, space, and makes the pose feel SO much lighter

No time? No energy?
You don’t need an hour on the mat.

A few mindful movements + your breath
can shift everything.

Keep it simple 🤍

If stepping from Down Dog feels impossible, stop stretching and start strengthening.
The body needs core compression + hip control to make space for the leg to travel forward.

Save this and add it before your flow — it changes everything.
Here’s the breakdown below ⬇️

MOVE 1 — Knee-to-Chest Hover (Core Compression)
• Start in Down Dog
• Shift forward slightly
• Hug one knee tightly into your chest
• Rise onto fingertips (creates space)
• Hold 3 breaths → step back
Why: Trains the deep core to lift the leg before it moves forward.

MOVE 2 — Low Lunge Rock-Backs (Hip Control)
• Step into a short Low Lunge
• Rock hips back → bend front knee again
• Keep spine long, hands light
• Repeat slowly x8
Why: Builds strength in the exact range needed to place the foot between the hands.

MOVE 3 — Block-Assisted Step Through (Make Space)
• Place hands on blocks (or books)
• From Down Dog, step forward
• Use the height to practise clean movement
• Slow + controlled reps x5 each side
Why: The goal is coordination, not forcing depth.

Practise these and the step will come.
