My holiday read is sorted! Reaching out to our little steps families, colleagues and followers. Inclusion starts with all of us and this book sounds like it is going to have some beautiful 💎 gems of wisdom. ❤️
My book of the month is Out of the Box: A one-stop guide to navigating neurodivergence by Madonna King and Rebecca Sparrow.
This is seriously a book the world needed. This is written not only for parents who have neurodivergent kids, but for the teachers and educators who teach them and it’s for everyone else as well. There are so many myths and misunderstandings around being neurodivergent and this book, which is so well-researched and sits on the voices of so many lived experiences, will give you the best lens to view those who are wired differently. I especially loved the in-depth chapters around cultivating friendships and a sense of belonging for ND kids. Everybody has a different neurotype and every brain works differently and relates to the world in its own way.
This brilliant book will lift awareness, build understanding and offer enormous support for everyone so that we can create a more compassionate, accommodating world where diversity is accepted as normal. Congratulations Madonna and Bec. Rebecca Sparrow
