The Be My Eyes app ๐Ÿ“ฑ is helping to make the world more accessible to people who are blind or have low vision.

The app connects users with a volunteer in their own language who can help identify things such as expiry dates and distinguishing colours to help users navigate their homes and communities.

Weโ€™re making NDIS planning fairer and easier. A new way of planning will roll out gradually, giving everyone time to prepare.

Why are changes being made?

Thousands of people called for change through the NDIS Review, and weโ€™re taking action.

Whatโ€™s changing?

โœ… more flexible budgets

โœ… a support needs assessment for fairer, more consistent plans and less paperwork.

Importantly, new plans will continue to be approved by real people.

NDIS staff will receive training to support new framework planning.

Current plans stay the same for now. We are aiming for mid-2026 for the first participants to move and we will take the time to get this right.

Everyone will get clear information and support before changes happen. Learn more at ๐Ÿ’ป https://ow.ly/fyXf50XGHev

Hello again โ€“ Georgia here from the NDIS Commissionโ€™s Enable Network.

As the week wraps up, itโ€™s worth thinking about how we can carry workplace inclusion forward beyond IDPwD.

True inclusion creates spaces where people are supported, not just accommodated. Often, small adjustments create equity, and the impact on confidence, wellbeing and performance can be profound.

Supporting each person fully transforms not just individual experiences, but the workplace as a whole.

With this yearโ€™s IDPwD behind us, whatโ€™s one lesson youโ€™ll carry forward to make work more inclusive? Let us know in the comments!

The NDIS Commission has now revoked the approval of JPS Audit Specialists (JPS) as an Approved Quality Auditor (AQA). NDIS auditor Global Compliance Certification (GCC) has purchased the audit work and intellectual property of JPS.

Providers who previously used JPS will be contacted directly with guidance on transitioning their audits. They should consider whether to continue audit activity with GCC or engage a different AQA. Transitioning to a new AQA will not affect registration.

We want to help providers through this process to ensure participant outcomes are not compromised.

What does International Day of People with Disability mean to you in one word? ๐Ÿ’œ

International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) takes place on 3 December. The day aims to promote community awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability all over the world.

This year, we asked NDIS participants and NDIA staff with lived experience what the day means to them. Follow along to hear their stories in the lead up to IDPwD.

Be part of creating an inclusive and diverse Australia. Let people know what IDPwD means to you in the comments. ๐Ÿ‘‡

Acting with integrity, honesty and transparency isnโ€™t optional under the NDIS Code of Conduct โ€“ itโ€™s essential ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ

Sometimes, recommending extra supports or services can really help a participant. But providers and workers must always declare any conflicts of interest, whether real or perceived. This helps ensure that participants receive supports that are safe, quality, and suited to their individual needs.

The NDIS Commission actively enforces these standards so every provider โ€“ registered or unregistered โ€“ delivers services that raise the standard of quality across the NDIS.

Have you ever wondered what the difference is between the NDIS Commission and the NDIA?

We each play a different role - but we all work together to make the NDIS safe, fair and focused on participants. Swipe through to see who does what and how we work together.

We are excited to announce that we have achieved a milestone in providing internationally recognised Quality Management Services to all our NDIS clients and providers โ€” we have this week obtained our ISO 9001 : 2015 certification.

ISO 9001 : 2015 is the Australian and New Zealand standard for Quality Management Systems. It sets out the requirements for consistency delivering products and services that meet customer and regulatory expectations. Achieving this standard demonstrates a commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.

Rather than be audited every 3 years by NDIS nominated auditors, we now will be internally audited yearly by ISO qualified independent auditors as well to ensure that MFT adheres to the ISO 9001 : 2015 Standards.๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ’š
