Now that’s just mean. Last week was such a kick-ass playlist and I haven’t even shared it with you… and now it’s time to do it all again.

It wasnt long before we warmed up to this fun playlist!
Tonight one of our regular dancers celebrates a birthday!
She's got FIVE song requests in tonights playlist!
(Was she greedy and chose them all herself, or did she share them with the friends she's bringing along). 😆
It's a great excuse to get your friends together, and an easy way to celebrate another trip around the sun. The group discount is the cherry on top!
🎈WHAT IS THE BIRTHDAY HIGH FIVE?
If you want to enjoy an hour of dance freedom, call it a party and bring along your besties! Your requests are always welcome at NLNL, but on your birthday I PROMISE to include a whopping FIVE tracks for you and your pals!
🎁$25 buys you entry for three to five people, so if you’re a group of five, that’s only $5 each (if you have more than five people coming along, you're too popular for your own good... and it will be $5 for everyone).
If it's your birthday and you're coming alone or with one other... just purchase regular entry but please let us celebrate with you, and send me some requests.

🎈At NLNL we dance by ourselves. Let your friends enjoy the bliss of an hour to themselves, with a pumping soundtrack (including your five requests). Normal NLNL rules will apply to maintain the experience for everyone attending. Cheering, singing, and clapping are excellent ways to participate and enjoy the music with friends, however it is a talk free space.
🎈Your friends do not have to be new to NLNL, they can be regular attendees.
🎈Have more than four friends coming along? $5 per extra person, they can pay via correct cash or card on the night.
🎈The Birthday High Five also offers good value for 3 or 4 people (compared to full price entry - not concession), and you are welcome to purchase it for a group this size.
🎈I don’t need to see your birth certificate, celebrate your birthday whenever you like… but if you start aging rapidly throughout the year I will become suspicious! 😆
🎈Purchases are not refundable, but they are transferrable to another week, if you become unwell or unable to attend. However, I cannot guarantee that I will be able to save your song requests for a later date, depending on how much cancellation notice you give me, so you may have to come up with another five requests! To cancel just message or email me before the session.
🎈The Birthday High Five purchase needs to be used on one night all together, individuals cannot attend over different weeks.

I thought I should introduce myself. (Lie! One of our regulars thought I should introduce myself... thank you to Kristin from Honey Images Photography for forcing this impromptu photo shoot on me!)
My name is Bec and I started up NLNL Hurstbridge in 2019. It was my answer to dealing with life events which had left me feeling a bit old and depressed. I attended Warrandyte NLNL (Mechanics Hall, Wednesdays 7-8pm) and loved it! But I knew that I needed one closer to home to ensure that I attended every week… for the rest of my life!
NLNL gave me back my sparkle, energy and a pretty big dose of excellent mental health. I would love for you to come along and experience the same thing.
Everyone is welcome and no bookings are required. If you are concerned that you have additional needs that need to be catered for, please send me a facebook message and we can work out how to make NLNL work for you.
Children are welcome at NLNL but it is advisable that you attend alone first to determine if it is suitable for your children. Please read the pinned post which outlines rules and guidelines for children attending.
NLNL is a non-pretentious, daggy, healthy, crazy fun activity. At Hurstbridge NLNL we are a friendly, welcoming group who cut loose on the dance floor every week. Most of us come on our own… when the lights go out we all dance alone anyway.
During the week you might spot me shazamming music in the shopping aisles, flicking through radio stations or pulled over in emergency stopping lanes adding songs to spotify lists. I love my job as a song collector, it is a joy to work on new playlists every week for us all to enjoy. I welcome your requests too.

Here is a little run down on what NLNL is:
- a place for people to come and dance freely in a friendly, non-threatening, drug and alcohol free atmosphere.
- an event that occurs in a dimly lit room: with the lights low people can truly dance without worrying about what they look like.
- a time to dance independently in the company of others, in order for people to truly lose themselves in the music it is important to keep talking to a minimum.
- not about technique and being a ‘good’ dancer, it’s about the experience of dancing with no one watching and the joy that this brings.
- a place to exercise at your own pace while having fun.
- promotes a healthy mind and a healthy body.
- about making dance accessible for everyone.
It is a place to shake out the stresses of the week, let go of your inhibitions and completely be yourself.
