Happy Monday everyone! It’s time for a new week and a new Meet the Staff; today we’re introducing you to Alyce!

Alyce is one of our nurses here at Fertility First. She has been working in the clinic for over two years now. One of her favourite parts of her day is interacting with all the people at the clinic, both patients and staff. Each week we’ve been asking our staff different fun questions and this week Alyce’s was about coffee! Her favourite order? A skinny piccolo from the cafe just across the street at Hurstville Private! 💛

Mother's Day is just around the corner and for so many, it's not a day of celebration. It's a day of bracing.

To anyone navigating a fertility journey, this one's for you. 💛

We know you've heard at least one of these. Maybe all of them. And we know that even when the words come from a place of love, they can still land hard.

So, we made this for you to share before Sunday rolls around. Send it to the friend who keeps asking. The aunt who means well. The colleague who doesn't know what to say. The group chat that needs a gentle nudge.

Because the people in your life do want to support you, they just don't always know how. A small shift in language can be the difference between feeling alone in it and feeling truly held.

Our video series "When is the right time to think about Fertility testing?" concludes this week with Dr. Clark detailing the importance of semen analysis and testing in fertility treatment. Dr. Clark has always been a firm believer in the idea that a man is half the baby so he deserves half the attention, and at Fertility First, they put that into practice by dedicating a portion of the testing to the s***m as well.

Time for another Meet the Staff Monday! Everyone say hi to Maan!

Maan is an Andrologist and Transport Coordinator here at Fertility First. He’s been working with us for two years now. His favourite part of the job is the people he works with - because it feels like a fun environment - and helping the patients. One fun fact about Maan is that he’s kept track and written down every movie and tv show that he’s ever watched - we can bet he has the best recommendations! 💛

Last week, Dr. Clark addressed some questions about when the right time to look into fertility testing is. This week, she's continuing the series with part two: what happens after you've decided it's time to proceed with testing?

At Fertility First, that starts with getting fertility facts about the couple. Questions like age, nutrition, life style, etc. are all important in figuring out where a patient is in the timeline of treatment. Then it's time to decide what happens next - sometimes that's as simple as changing some dietary and lifestyle choices. Other times it includes more testing or treatment cycles. Each time, it's individually focussed and based on the patient.

For better or for worse, the season of winter is slowly beginning to creep in! Now more than ever, it’s important to remember to get your daily dose of vitamin D (with proper SPF if you’re out in the sun!) ☀️ As Dr. Clark always says, and studies show, vitamin D deficiency can lead to adverse health outcomes for woman and baby. So make sure you’re getting your daily vitamin D and enjoy these photos of the change of season at Fertility First in the meantime! 💛

It’s Meet the Staff Monday! Say hello to Linda, our Counselor ☺️

Linda has been with us at Fertility First for fourteen years and we’ve been so lucky to have her! Her favourite part of working at the clinic is the rich diversity of people that she gets to interact with each day. One of the best parts of her day is celebrating all the birthdays at the clinic - she says all the different cakes are divine 😉

We know we talk about the back garden a lot (for good reason, we think 😉) but we wanted to take a minute and give our beautiful front entrance it's flowers as well!

When Dr. Clark started Fertility First, she wanted her clinic to stand out; she didn't want it to feel like a cold, sterile hospital environment, but somewhere warm and inviting where her patients could feel more comfortable and welcome. And that feeling starts with the front entrance! We definitely think she has succeeded 💛

This week, Dr. Clark is addressing age and pregnancy.

One of the main questions that gets asked by patients in the fertility world is 'Am I too old to get pregnant?" There are lots of myths about how women 'age out' of pregnancy by their mid-thirties, and these just aren't true. There are many couples who decide to have children later in their life, and this is totally possible! So if this has been a myth you've heard, consider it busted!
