Outreach time again ✈️🙂🏝️
Day 1 was a little change of plan and we headed inbound to Mornington island, dodging some storms and wet weather!

The floodplains in the gulf were so extensive. Every one from Karumba have been flooded in since end of December!

Mornington Island was a huge success, and despite the rain, 15 women came to see us! A wonderful turnout and a big shout out to Roxanne and Dora for their help ☺️💜

Last Saturday marked the end of our first Gulf outreach of the year and what a wonderful one it was! We had beautiful weather, missed all the storms, saw the flood planes in all their glory and met wonderful families along way!

Outreach update ✈️🩺👩🏻‍⚕️💜
Watching the beautiful sunrise over townsville as we headed into the gulf. Summer storms and steamy weather while we lugged lots of bags/luggage. This trip we welcome some news faces - we were joined by Dr Amy Thwaite and Renea Beck, our outreach coordinator!!

Our first day in Doomadgee was incredible! We had 22 women arrive to see us for both pregnancy ultrasound and women’s health! That is a WHC record!!! Thanks to the Doomadgee community health team and the midwife Sheree for all your help!

Annnnnnndddddddd we are off and running for 2026. Another wonderful day on Palm Island, an incredible picturesque flight in the morning, the water was glistening with the beautiful green and blue hues of reef. The new airport was super flash! Connecting with the team at Bwgcolam healing and seeing 8 women was by the far the highlight!!
Then back, with the storm clouds looming and freshing rain upon landing! A wonderful day to kick start 2026!

Hello to 2026, we can hardly believe we are already 12 days in! An ever eventful start to the year in Townsville as always, hope everyone managed to stay safe and dry.
Before we start to share our journey of 2026, we want to quickly recap on 2025, what a year it was!

There have been many amazing things including further development of our outreach, addition of our pelvic pain clinic. We have worked with some incredible people this year including Dr Rosh Samuel (Fetal Cardiologist), Dr Michelle White (GP) and our star sonography team (the A team of Angelina, Andrea, Anita) and have established a great administration team (Amanda, Rebecca and Renea). We have trained many teams in endo scanning and techniques to improve women’s health.

So what is in stall for 2026!!! Let’s see - MORE outreach to far flung places in North Queensland! A new focus on imaging with new software and new specialised probes.....and of course, more beautiful babies!

Lucky enough to have another fabulous crew for our last day.
Belinda the incredible midwife and Lyndel the physio were with us also in Normanton.
On reflection we are so grateful to have met and worked alongside some amazing health care professionals this year.

The 3D scans and photos a huge hit as always, so appreciated by all of the expecting mothers.

The flight was incredibly picturesque flying from Doomadgee to Mornington island, with a 30 knot wind to make it a bit bumpy!

We saw 9 women and everyone enjoyed seeing their babies on the screen!

And incredible trip back to Karumba for the night, topped off by a beautiful sunset!

What a day in Doomadgee it was!
We left Townsville at 7am and had the most picturesque trip, flying over the coast line and Paluma, before heading left to the gulf!

We arrived in 10am and hit the ground running, seeing 18 women! We were joined by Lyndel, Women’s Physio and Kim, the outreach midwife, both based in Mount Isa! A great collaborative team! A real one stop shop!

The smiles were plentiful as Ange, our amazing sonographer, gave the girls some beautiful 3D photos of their babies for Christmas.

Permission granted for Violet and her sister Shyeisha, some amazing photos of her beautiful baby and the joy of being scanned on country. What a privilege to be able to share this gift with these women.
