As a bulk-billing clinic, we are doing our utmost to meet growing demand and are actively recruiting additional medical professionals, as well as providing telehealth appointments with the help of our sister practice in Cairns.
While we do our best to run on time, doctors may occasionally run behind due to complex patient needs or medical emergencies. We appreciate your patience when this happens.

🌟 Welcome Dr Katie Willson! 🌟👩‍⚕️

We are excited to introduce another new doctor to our practice – Dr Katie Willson (GP Registrar).

Dr Willson joins us through the Queensland Government’s Single Employer Model (SEM) program, an initiative designed to attract and retain doctors in rural and remote Queensland.

Katie grew up in the country (near Toowoomba), has advanced skills in emergency medicine, and is passionate about rural health. She will be splitting her time between Hinchinbrook Health Care and Ingham Hospital, supporting both our practice and the wider community.

We’re excited to welcome Dr Liezel Truter to our practice!

Dr Truter graduated in 2007 in South Africa and has worked as a General Practitioner and in emergency departments across Cape Town.

In 2014, she began an incredible journey as a Doctor at Sea, spending 10 years with Princess Cruises, where she served as Senior Doctor, managing medical teams and providing emergency, acute and chronic care. It was also there that she met her husband, an Ingham local 🥰.

Now calling Ingham home, Dr Truter is passionate about quality medical care and is very much looking forward to meeting and caring for our community.

We are announcing that from tomorrow Saturday November 1st, Hinchinbrook Health Care will be offering full bulk billing for standard medicare services to all patients. This is a major milestone in offering affordable health care for all especially at a time when cost of living pressures are so great.
