I did a thing ! 🤩
After years of watching my kids not want to touch the stinky hoof oil in therapy sessions I have created the most beautiful all natural biodegradable glitter infused hoof oil . Yesterday one of my favourite girls ( little miss O, 12 years old ) told me in a session that she was teased for stimming in class when she got super excited. It made her so sad she didn’t want to go to school yesterday ( so came and saw me instead - big YAY to her awesome mama bear 🐻 🫶)
So we spent part of the session talking about stimming and what it is and watched beautiful video of her stimming while whale watching to show her how wonderful it is . 🐳
We made this poster for her to take back to school and educate her peers.
I explained stimming helps her brain feel calm and happy. It’s how she regulates and shows joy. Different isn’t wrong. It’s just different.
So proud of this girl for taking back her power
