Pippen's Disability Support in Ipswich

Pippen's Disability Support in Ipswich Disability support with a focus on NDIS and providing transportation in SE QLD, Australia. Im known for my patience and reliability.

Hi I'm Craig, I love support work especially when it means making progress and creating smiles. I now work in disability support full time and have done so since early 2022. I have an older sibling who has an intellectual disability, had a parent who became a wheelchair user following a stroke, and a child with autism, so Ive always had some familiarity with disabilities. Originally from New Zealand, I've lived in Australia several decades and moved with my husband from Sydney to Brisbane in 2022. Prior to this industry I worked in IT for 20 years, supporting computers. I now have NDIS clients who request my help regularly, but I still have various times of the week where I tend to be available. Ive assisted with a wide range of tasks, from shopping on someone's behalf, to mowing lawns, solving computer problems, accompanying people at gym and men's sheds, taking clients for a walk, collecting kids from school, taking kids to clubs and classes, helping find employment, helping to de-clutter, assembling furniture, working with client's therapists, to even helping someone learn to drive. This has included supporting people aged from around 7 years old, to around 70.

From 1 July 2025, the Queensland Government has removed application and renewal fees for the Australian Disability Parking Permit.

This is a welcome change aimed at easing cost-of-living pressures and supporting accessible transport options.

The change applies to individual permit holders, including those with mobility impairments or legal blindness. Existing red permit holders who are eligible will also benefit from the fee removal. However, they advised refunds will not be issued for permits paid for prior to 1 July 2025.

PWDA welcome this move and would love to see other states and territories follow suit.
