March is a timely reminder to prioritise your skin health. Australia has one of the highest rates of melanoma in the world, and early detection can truly save lives.

Even though we’re nearing the end of March, it’s not too late to think about getting your skin checked — your health shouldn’t wait for a date on the calendar.

Melanoma can develop quickly and may appear as a new spot or a change in an existing mole. If you’ve noticed anything unusual — or if it’s simply been a while since your last skin check — now is the perfect time to book in.

It is with great sadness that I note the passing of Dr Cecil Doughty.

He worked at the East Street Clinic from 1975 to 1984 and the East Clinic from 1984 to 2017

He was a great doctor respected by patients and staff.

We are currently looking to RECRUIT a VIBRANT and EFFECTIVE MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST to expand our dynamic team. The right candidate should have availability to work a minimum 2 shifts per week, with the potential to increase hours during staff leave periods. Proficient computer skills are a must, however onsite training of Medical Director and Pracsoft programs will be provided. It is with great pleasure that we announce that Dr Usman Khan (husband of our Dr Rida), will soon be joining the East Clinic family. Dr Usman joins us with a wealth of experience in general practice and skin cancer treatment. With our esteemed Dr Philip Goldston retiring in August, Dr Usman will be available to take on new patients.

Dr Usman will commence his time at East Clinic on the 14th July and will be working Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9am-4:00pm. To reserve your appointment please call our friendly staff on 073281 0888.

We are deeply saddened to inform our patients of the loss of our past General Practitioner, Dr Barry Hoffensetz.

Dr Barry as many of you would remember was a man of kindness, compassion, integrity and a willingness to provide outstanding care to all of those fortunate enough to be his patient.

His warmth generosity and good humour will be remembered for a very long time.

Our condolences are extended to his wife Jan, His children, grandchildren and their extended family.

East Clinic currently has 8 General Practitioners working at the practice. Our Doctors are long term Ipswich GP’s who truly believe that to achieve the best health outcomes, continuity of care is the most important service that our practice can offer its patients.

When you become a patient of East Clinic the GP you select to care for your family is your primary health care GP. We do our best for you to have continued care with that GP. If your GP is not available your records will be easily accessed by another GP at this practice to ensure that you get the best care.

We offer several personalised clinics conducted by our Nurses for chronic care, please ask your GP to see if you qualify.

Always know that if you are welcome to contact the clinic at any time if you have any questions about the practice.
