โญ We are so proud of Crystal, who recently shared her story at the Ipswich Disability Interagency meetingโญ

Not long ago, speaking in front of a room full of people would have felt impossible, but Crystal did exactly that โ€” and she did an amazing job.

Crystal spoke about her life growing up in foster care, the loss of her foster mum, and the challenges she faces living with epilepsy. She also shared what itโ€™s taken to find the right supports and build a life where she feels safe, connected, and independent.

Today, Crystal is thriving. Sheโ€™s living in supported accommodation, making friends, learning new skills through activity programs like cooking, and taking part in public performances through dance - something that brings her so much confidence and happiness.

Her message was simple: your disability does not define you. With the right support and a positive mindset, you can achieve your goals.

Crystal, we are incredibly proud of you๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ. Thank you for sharing your story and inspiring everyone in that room (and beyond).

Focal clients are invited to register for a 5-week wellbeing program. Program sessions run for two hours face-to-face per week, with one-hour indoor classroom-based learning and one-hour outdoor physical activity.

The first hour focuses on developing soft skills such as mental wellbeing, goal setting and confidence. The second hour is an outdoor session which builds friendships and teamwork through physical activity. The program is FREE. You will pay for any supports required to enable you to participate.

The Australian Government has announced a consultation for the NDIS Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026. The consultation will run until Monday 1 June with a report due to be released on Tuesday 16 June.
