Pre-Treatment Concerns: Brow descent and excess upper eyelid skin fold causing heaviness, eyelid ptosis affecting vision, and persistent lower eyelid swelling from a previous non-surgical treatment.

Procedures Performed:

Upper Blepharoplasty – Case Study

This patient presented with excess upper eyelid skin and volume loss, more noticeable on the right side. Over the past few years, she observed a gradual decrease in volume alongside an increase in skin redundancy, leading to some hollowness.

Following upper blepharoplasty with tissue redistribution and tarsal fixation, a comparison of pre- and post-operative images demonstrates a reduction in excess skin, improved symmetry, and enhanced contour. The eyelid aperture has slightly increased, contributing to a more refreshed appearance. Additionally, the signs of hollowing have improved, maintaining a balance in eyelid volume.

Upper blepharoplasty may be considered for individuals experiencing functional concerns such as a reduced visual field or a sensation of heaviness, or those seeking a more defined eyelid contour. A consultation is essential to evaluate individual suitability, outline expected outcomes, and provide a detailed discussion on potential risks and the recovery process.
