While researching our family history we discovered that our ancestors were some of the first settlers of Jamberoo in the 1820s, and we visited the valley to see where our forebears had lived. We fell in love with the emerald hills populated with friendly folk only 1.5 hours from Sydney. Inspired to grow our own food and live a waste-free natural lifestyle, we purchased this very special property "Mittajooloo" (meaning A Special Place in a local Aboriginal language) as our hobby farm in 2015, originally a deer farm. We began earnestly planting fruit trees and vegetables, repairing fences and adopting goats from the RSPCA for cheese and yoghurt making. We added bee hives and heritage chooks and pretty soon we were so busy hosting eager friends and family we decided to make this our permanent home and business. In 2017 we began offering yoga and massage and look forward to welcoming you here soon!

Hi all,

Just a reminder of the new yoga class at Swan Athletic Gym in Jamberoo on Sundays at 4.30pm. We had a big turn out last week so book in with me if you’re keen!

I’ve been teaching yoga for 8 years both in Sydney and my farm in Jamberoo. I emphasise safety, mobility, breathing and relaxation. There’s no need to be flexible – safe yoga is about injury prevention and wellbeing.

Numbers are limited so please let me know if you’d like to reserve spot - message me on 0413456024. It’s $20 per class. BYO cushion and a mat if you have one, but we also have some spares. The address is 145 Minnamurra Lane Jamberoo. Please spread the word!

For more information check out www.staghillaustralia.com/yoga

Hope to see you there!

🐝 First full jar of honey from our hives established in October 2020! This is very sweet and runny uncapped burr honey, from comb that the bees have formed beyond the frames in all sorts of weird and wonderful shapes that the rectangular manmade hive boxes don’t easily accomodate. Newsflash humans: there’s no squares in nature! 🤓 We have 2 traditional Langstroth hives, so full with honey that we need to add more supers soon. But we’re also hoping to establish a Warré hive asap, which is supposed to better accommodate bees’ natural tendencies... In any case, this cool rainy La Niña summer has done wonders for all the plants and creatures on our farm - the bees have loads of flower food 🌺🌻💦🌲😍

This is Lolly, she is very sweet. Goat cuddles with all the bubbas is a great distraction from other work 😁 We currently have 8 kids jumping around and most are black and white - I’m seeing double and even quadruple... oh and also please compare the ridiculous size of the black does’ teats to the white doe in the last photo - both are lactating and feeding their week old kids 😱

In love with Nero our newest baby goat and our first ever pure black bubba, from Elizabeth, Queen of the goats (read bully). Her teats have become so ridiculously enormous she basically walks bowlegged... 😱 She is a melaan breed, amazing Mum and milker but sheesh, them teats gotta hurt right???

Just hatched! 7 chicks and 2 more pipped so likely 9 of 12 (75% hatch rate) 🐣
These are mixed chicks from green easter eggers and Marans mothers, with Araucana and Speckled Sussex fathers, so hopefully interesting feathering and egg colours. 🤞🏼
We love raising chicks and watching our happy chooks peck all over our huge lawns, their social quirks are mesmerising and their p**p is amazingly nutritious for our fruit trees and veg beds. Plus beautiful rainbow eggs of course 🌈 🥚 ❤️
