Happy International Men's Day! 🥳

Today we celebrate the men in our lives.

They're the unsung heroes who:

Can lift a heavy box... but need detailed instructions to re-fold a fitted sheet.

Fix the leaky faucet... but can't find the butter that's clearly in the fridge door.

Are masters of the grill... but will only eat something if it passes the "does it require a fork?" test.

Jokes aside, we appreciate the strength, humor, and heart you bring to your families, workplaces, and communities.

This day is also a serious reminder to check in on your mates and prioritise your mental and physical health. It takes real strength to talk about the tough stuff.

Give the men in your life a virtual (or real!) high-five today! ✋

On November 19, International Men’s Day celebrates worldwide the positive value men bring to the world, their families and communities. We highlight positive

🍭 It's Sugar Awareness Week! 🍬

Did you know that many of us are eating far more 'free sugars' than recommended without even realising it? These are the sugars added to food and drinks, not the natural sugars found in whole fruit and plain milk.

At [Practice Name/Wambo Medical], we want to help you make healthier choices!

Why does it matter?

Health Risks: Too much added sugar is linked to an increased risk of obesity, Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and tooth decay.

Hidden Sugars: Sugars are often 'hidden' in foods you might think are healthy, like sauces, breakfast cereals, fruit juices, and muesli bars.

💡 Our Simple Challenge to You:
Read the Label: Check the 'Sugars' line on your favourite packaged food or drink.

Look for 'Hidden' Names: Be aware of ingredients like glucose, maltose, honey, syrups, and fruit juice concentrate.

Choose Water: Swap just one sugary drink (like a soft drink or cordial) for water today!

Your health is the sweetest thing! Make a small change this week for a big impact on your long-term well-being.

Breakfast provides us a great opportunity to start our day consuming a variety of essential nutrients, but unfortunately, commercial breakfasts are often high in sugar. Cereals, pancakes, pastries, rice dishes, porridges, jams, yogurts, coffee, tea and milk drinks – the food industry add huge amou...

🌬️: November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month! 💙

This month, we're shining a light on the leading cause of cancer death in Australia. It's a disease that can affect anyone with lungs, regardless of whether they have smoked.

Here's how you can help raise awareness:

Learn the Signs: Know the symptoms like a persistent cough, shortness of breath, or chest pain, and speak to a doctor if you notice any changes.

Combat the Stigma: Lung cancer is a devastating disease. Let's show compassion and support for all those impacted.

Share This Post: Help us spread this important message and encourage early detection and research.

Let's work together to make a difference this November. Also, did you know you can get a free lung cancer test ? Check with your doctor about referrals.

🤩 Exciting News for Our Patients! 🤩

We are thrilled to announce that as of November 1, 2025, our medical practice will be moving to full bulk billing for all patients under the new government scheme!

This is a fantastic change that will help make healthcare more accessible and affordable for everyone in our community.

What this means for you: All eligible general practice consultations will be fully covered by Medicare—meaning no out-of-pocket costs for you and your family.

When it starts: The change takes effect on November 1, 2025.

We look forward to continuing to provide you with high-quality care, now with zero cost at the point of service.

Thank you for being part of our practice family! Please share this great news!

Ready to see some questionable facial hair? 🥸

It's almost October 31st, which means Movember is officially around the corner! This is your 24-hour warning to enjoy your clean-shaven look because starting November 1st, we're all going to look like 70s detectives or awkward teenagers attempting a mustache for the first time. The Mo Bros at Wambo Medical are shaving down and strapping in for a month of itchy upper lips, bad angles, and bravely raising awareness for men’s health—including mental health and prostate cancer. Wish us luck (and maybe send some beard oil).

P.S. To all our partners: We apologize in advance for the sprouts. It’s for a good cause! 😂

Subject: Don't let your hands host a germ party! 🦠🥳

It's Global Handwashing Day! A day to remind ourselves that the germs on your hands are secretly planning a highly unsanitary rave. The only bouncer they truly fear is soap and water.

Our official advice:

Wet.

Lather like you're performing a dramatic monologue.

Sing "Happy Birthday" twice (or the chorus of a catchy 90s song).

Rinse.

Watch those tiny germ party-goers get evicted!

Keep your hands and our practice safe!

a global advocacy day dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding about the importance of handwashing with soap as an effective and affordable way to prevent diseases and save lives. Global Handwashing Day is an opportunity to design, test, and replicate creative ways to encourage people to....
