I’ve found another puzzle for you guys to help solve.
How about this one, anyone know this species?
There’s around 700 species of eucalypts enough to keep my head busy forever without starting on softwoods 😫😫
But like the last one someone that works with this timber or lives where it grows will instantly identify it I’d say 👍😎

Back before Gyprock and even before that horse hair plasterboard this was what we used as internal lining, these tongue and groove boards are a mixture of Australian Red Cedar and White Beech.
Make a nice rustic feature as is, skip dressed or dress down to look new again.

Can anyone identify this species?
Information limited but I do believe it’s from QLD it’s quiet dense with corse bark and brilliant white sap contrast with the red timber.
Don’t think it’s Mackay Cedar have worked with it in past and this does seem quite a bit harder, but I could be wrong.
Hopefully one of you guys will know instantly like I do with our local species 👍

Thanks to Naomi looks like the puzzle has been solved looks like we have Budgeroo 😎👍

NO MARKETS TILL DECEMBER
We have been fortunate enough to acquire an old time millers shed full of timber, we shared the same passion for timber and his skills surpassed those of mine. As i am sorting through his collection I feel like I’m getting to know him even though he’s passed on and I never had the chance to meet him.
Some of his timber has been stored for many decades and I’m even thinking it spans two generations.
There is some sensational timber amongst it but on the flip side he never ever threw away a single bit of timber and there’s a massive amount to be removed it will take us a number of weeks to clear everything.
Due to this we have been unable to restock our trailer for upcoming markets and until we get it sorted we won’t be able to attend any markets as we have no stock 😫😫😫
But when we do get it sorted we will be finishing and sharing a selection of timber from this old shed. 🥰
I will find more information on the old fella and with permission share the details with you guys his skills were amazing .
Timber is so good like fine wine 🍷 improves with age and spans generations 🥰🥰

Pick the species? This slab is rough sawn, not dressed. Hint:- hens teeth, bees knees.

Few issues to sort out with the firefighting pump always good to get them running before you actually need them.

GUESS WHOSE BACK 🎵 .
Both these photos are of Brucey, first one was the day I found him eyes shut not responsive breathing laboured and we knew we had to get him to the vet. second one is just now.
what a difference a week can make.
Birds may fall ill rapidly but they also recover fast by the looks.
Wouldn’t believe it’s the same bird 🐦 🥰

Brucey is obviously not happy about his trips to the vet but he’s still with us and flying 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 he came in landed briefly but he wasn’t hanging around. Even if his trust in us is broken I’m so happy because it looks as though he’s coming good.
The vet supplied us with medication for him but got no idea how to administer it when he’s off us?
