You’ve just had a transfer. Should you lie flat? Rest for days? Avoid walking?

Actually, there’s no evidence that bedrest improves outcomes after IVF. In fact, gentle movement and resuming daily life can help circulation and mood.

Of course, if your doctor recommends taking it easy for another reason, follow that advice. But in most cases — walk, move, breathe. Trust your body, and give yourself permission to live normally.

Fertility treatment isn’t just physical. It’s a rollercoaster of hopes, waiting, disappointments and decisions. And yet emotional wellbeing is often overlooked.

At JOGG, we make space for the whole experience — not just the clinical part. Whether it’s a tough scan result, a hard decision, or just needing to cry in a safe space — we’re here.

Because your feelings are valid. Your story matters. And no one should go through this alone.

Progesterone plays a crucial role in early pregnancy — helping maintain the uterine lining and support the growing embryo.

We may recommend progesterone supplements if:

✔ You’ve had recurrent miscarriages
✔ You’re undergoing IVF or ovulation induction
✔ You have spotting in early pregnancy

It’s not needed for every pregnancy, and we don’t recommend it routinely unless there’s a clear reason. But in the right cases, it’s a safe, evidence-backed way to support early development.

If you’re unsure about a recommendation — it’s always OK to ask. We’re here to explain every step.

Birth doesn’t end when the baby is born. The next stage — delivering the placenta — is just as important.

Sometimes the placenta doesn’t come away on its own. This is called a retained placenta, and it can lead to bleeding or infection if not managed. Risk is higher in certain births (e.g. preterm, previous caesarean, long labour), and it’s one reason post-birth monitoring is essential.

At JOGG, we stay with you well after the baby is out — watching carefully, acting early if needed, and making sure you feel safe and supported through every phase of birth.

If you’re trying to conceive and not ovulating regularly, we might suggest ovulation induction.

This is a treatment where medication (like letrozole or clomiphene) helps the body ovulate more consistently. It’s often used in and other hormone-related cycle issues. It’s not IVF — and it can be one of the simplest and most effective first steps in fertility care.

At JOGG, we approach ovulation induction carefully — with monitoring, education and time to talk through how it all works. No pressure, no one-size-fits-all plan. Just evidence-based care that respects your choices.

Not everyone gets morning sickness. Not everyone has cravings, sore breasts or early signs.

Many people feel completely normal in early pregnancy — and then worry something’s wrong. But lack of symptoms doesn’t mean a lack of progress.

If you’re anxious, early scans and check-ins can provide reassurance. But know this: every body is different, and feeling “fine” is not a bad sign.

Packing your hospital bag? Here’s what you’ll actually use:

✔ Phone charger
✔ Comfy clothes
✔ Maternity pads
✔ That one lip balm you’d cry without
And maybe a little note to remind yourself: you’ve got this.

Everything else? Optional.

Do you get dull, heavy pelvic pain — worse after standing, around your period, or after s*x? You might have never heard of it, but this could be Pelvic Congestion Syndrome.

It’s caused by varicose veins in the pelvis — similar to what can happen in the legs — leading to chronic, aching pain. It’s often underdiagnosed, especially in younger women.

It can be picked up on scans and sometimes treated with minimally invasive procedures. If pelvic pain has been brushed off or unexplained for years — it’s worth a second look.

It’s common to feel itchy during pregnancy — but if the itching is severe (especially on your hands or feet), it’s worth checking your liver.

Intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP) is a liver condition that can affect bile flow and increase risks for the baby. It often appears in the third trimester and requires close monitoring and possibly early delivery.

If something feels “off,” speak up. Trust your instincts — and your itch.

Cervix chat doesn’t need to be awkward.

We’ve seen it all. Heard it all.

There’s nothing weird, nothing too much, and no reason to feel shy.

You bring the questions, we’ll bring the calm.

In early pregnancy, it’s not unusual to hear that your placenta is “low lying.” Naturally, that can sound alarming — but for most people, it resolves on its own.

The placenta is the organ that supports your baby’s growth, and early in pregnancy, it may sit low in the uterus — sometimes even covering the cervix (a condition called placenta praevia). As your uterus grows, the placenta usually moves up and away from the cervix.

But in a small number of cases, it stays low. This can increase the risk of bleeding later in pregnancy or during labour, and may mean a caesarean is recommended for safety.

If you've been told your placenta is low, we’ll monitor it closely with repeat ultrasounds. You’ll have time to prepare, ask questions and understand your options. And no matter the birth plan — you’ll be supported through it.
