Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet Closing the gap by providing the evidence base for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health

For over 20 years, the Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet has provided support to those working in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health sector by making research and other knowledge readily accessible. Our website hosts published, unpublished and specially-developed material about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, making these resources freely accessible to people with the aim of enhancing their knowledge and skills and improving their practice and/or policy work. For students and the general community, the knowledge accessible via our website aims to improve their understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and related areas. We encourage and support information-sharing among practitioners, policy-makers and others working to improve Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s health. Our core functions are made possible by grants (particularly from the Australian Department of Health and Ageing's Office for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health, and Indigenous Programs and Psychostimulants Section). Specific research activities are supported by funds from a variety of sources.
